Leroy Kelly is still the best all around football player I’ve ever seen. Traveling the world I find places that are that simple, I set down and shut up. Soak it all in. Only the current Pennsylvania teams voted to give the championship to Pottsville — probably out of geographic loyalty. I believe it was the Steelers who claimed a flimsy connection to the Frankford franchise and tried to rescind “their” protest from many years ago (after Frankford folded, the Eagles were created to take their spot, and later the Eagles and Pirates/Steelers owners swapped teams — not to be confused with their wartime Steagles merger).

If you want dirty dealings, check out how the Bears/Staleys stole the 1921 championship from the Buffalo All-Americans. No one is clamoring to give the title to that Buffalo squad and the Bears have won plenty of championships since.
