Bidwill interviewed him personally. I’m sure Keim had an opinion, but Bidwill is an active owner. Keim may have endorsed Wilks but you can bet he was Bidwill’s choice.
He was. Wilkes brought his coaches from Carolina, and that was the extent of it. Bidwill liked him and the experienced coaches he was bringing along. McCoy was also on the FO alone.

Looks like we're heading into SDS territory very quickly, fan support is dying. So, yeah Bill, you might wanna fix this sooner than later unless you want to lose all the fans you worked so hard to get over the past decade

If the team gets drilled on Thursday, the levy will break and there will be heck to pay financially for mike B. Concession, souvenirs, players asking to be traded. I think it’s about to go down

Or Michael just gave his opinion and “stayed in his lane”. I don’t know as I have zero inside information, just throwing that out there.

Honestly, I think the only team with a consistent OL is the Rams, & they were what? Sacked 5 times today?
Titans had a good OL for the past 2 years & they were sacked 11 times today.

From Pro Football Rumors coverage of Bidwill’s press coverage, “Team president Michael Bidwill said he knew on Saturday that Wilks was his guy, so therefore he did not feel the need to interview any candidates who were coaching in the Super Bowl”. Sounds like the decision maker to me.

Or he was endorsing Keim’s Choice? He kept Keim after driving with a BAC higher than his IQ so he seems very loyal to Keim. Again, JMHO.

In reality, most of the revenue the Cardinals earn is revenue that is shared with the rest of the league. This includes official NFL merchandise. I don't think concession revenues are shared, but a few people not buying beers will probably not get Mike B's attention. Empty seats would get his attention for sure, but won't make a huge dent in the pocketbook. Only club/suite ticket revenue stays 100% with the team. And it will probably take a couple of years for dramatic changes in that.

A deluge of boos, people not showing up or leaving early and relentless criticism in the media and from local Businessmen will be the factor. And you better believe they follow concession and souvenir sales

Fitz was a Pro Bowler last year. JJ Nelson was serviceable at least. The list goes on and on.

What determines great business owners from bad ones isn't making mistakes because everyone makes mistakes. It's how they respond to them. How Bidwill and Keim proceed over the next few months will be very telling.

This.

Everyone makes mistakes but MB has proven himself to be a great owner. It's obvious something is wrong and not much you can do about it now but in the offseason I have no doubt things will be addressed

Ownership is the problem. A long series of hiring gaffes by them. Nice guys finish last.

Not really.

MB has proven he wants a winner he's going to do what it takes no matter who shows up. Trust me MB knows it ain't working out

He's certainly better than his father but "great" goes too far until he lifts up the Lombardi. I will give him all the credit in the world for taking this organization to where it once as the laughingstock of American sports was to what it is now which is a solid respected NFL franchise. That's a pretty big turn over the last 15 years.

It's easy to be a Monday morning quarterback. But we didn't see this coming. Wilks wowed them during his interviews . Football pundits said he was one of the hottest Hc candidates. So here we are. I'm a big Michael Bidwill fan. He wants to win and will make the changes necessary to do that.

The first change that needs to be made is to fire McCoy. That was the mortal sin of this reorganization. They hired a guy who was fired mid season last year. It needs to happen before the team quits. McCoy has done irreparable damage to this franchise

I wasn’t high on the hire at all. Should’ve known what he was gonna be like once he hired McCoy.

Really wanted DeFilippo & still want him.

So you’re giving Wilks a pass?

I’m sorry but he hired McCoy given his mediocre track record, that’s on the HC 100%.

No. Wilks is a bum. But there are financial implications and it’s dangerous to fire the entire staff in the NFL. If this were the NBA, I would want the entire staff fired. In the NFL when you fire a whole staff, people don’t know where to be on the field and injuries happen. Wilks is a reprobate, and should be fired after the season. But McCoy needs to go Friday morning

I hear ya but staffs have been fired before after 1 year.

I personally think Michael is kidding himself if he thinks a conservative HC like Wilks is going to change his stripes.

Imo his questionable decisions he’s made, how unprepared this team is each week & getting manhandled on the offensive & defensive lines are plenty reasons enough to clean house.

But hey that’s just me. The red warning flags are boldly flying in Bidwills face that failure lies ahead.

Schedule the firings now. McCoy on Friday. Wilks and company on the evening after the final game

very curious to see what happens this offseason if the team goes 2-14 / 3-13

especially if the defense continues to get gashed on the ground, with a regular monday morning explanation of "guys arent in their gaps -- its just one guy every play"

i dont know how you bring back a staff where both offense and defense took huge steps back.

the team should be in a much better position to hire an offensive minded coach: a young QB who looks like the real deal, a high draft pick and tons of cap space. This is pretty much the opposite of the Cards situation this past offseason.

I know from people close to the former staff that Bettcher was Keim’s primary choice and the Wilks hire was a late surprise.

Where else did Wilks interview? He was a one-year coordinator.
