From RotoWorld. Hopefully this spurs the Suns and others to get this party going.

The Blazers have agreed to a deal with the Hornets to acquire the 27th pick in the draft for cash considerations, a Blazers source told ESPN.com.

The deal was agreed to verbally between the two teams on Tuesday night, according to the source, with the trade to become official on Wednesday. The Blazers could use the pick to take Croatian big man Ante Tomic, who they have reportedly coveted for years. Jun. 25 - 12:08 am et

What a stupid move for New Orleans. Trading a pick for cash is extremely short sighted. Guys like CDR should be available at 27 this year, he could become a contributor. Plus, with the ability to store guys over seas and the NBDL, I just don't get these kind of moves. If its the guaranteed contract that frightens you, I'm sure you could trade down a bit to a second round pick. On draft day some team with a high-ish 2nd rounder will probably get nervous and want to move up.

Portland probably doesn't have any plans on using this pick. They now have 5 picks, and already have a super young roster. They must be trying to package a bunch of picks together for other trades, or to possibly to move into the Top 10.

This is a sign, IMOP, that they are trading the 13th pick. I cant see this team adding 3 young guys to a team that could push for the playoffs.

could it be the Barbosa deal??????????

It would be consistent with a trade.

Kerr: Mr. Allen, number 13 plus Webster really isn't enough for Barbosa.
Paul Allen: (yells to other room) Kevin, go get my checkbook.

I would like to think the Paul Allen agreed to buy a pick for the Suns as "future considerations" in return for selling him their pick plus JR, but surely no...

I wouldnt mind seeing a Barbs/Tucker/2nd rounder/cash for 13/JR/Frye in some sort of "omg we hooked you up last year" deal.

Nash/MLE
Bell/Rush(13)
Hill/Diaw/JR
Amare/Frye
Shaq/Speights(15)

Portland no doubt has at least one trade in the works. Hopefully it is with the Suns. We need some excitement and new players on this team especially with the squashing of most of the Suns trade rumors as of yesterday (Webster, Jefferson, Maggette)

But kudos Capt. Obvious!

Your modifier just made the idea sound even more ridiculous, considering what I've read from you in the past I thought you were serious.

My bad, I thought the thread was for serious trade talk, not ridiculous ideas that fly in the face of reality.

Please continue to make more funnies. Thanks.
