Just a few days ago, almost every Columbus Blue Jackets fan and journalist was talking about how the team could pull within two points of the New Jersey Devils for third in the Metro. Unfortunately, they lost to the Devils and fell six points back.

Columbus Loses To New York; Goalless Drought Reaches 129 MinutesIn a game that the Columbus Blue Jackets absolutely had to win, they didn't put up much of a fight in a 4-0 loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday night.
Since then, it hasn't been good for the Blue Jackets. They lost to both the Vegas Golden Knights and New York Rangers in games where they were shut out in both. Their shutout streak has now hit 129 minutes, and with those two losses, they have fallen out of both Wild Card spots.

Before the game against the Devils on March 11, they were in the first Wild Card spot, and now, just five days later, they are on the outside looking in.

Life comes at you fast, and that is what happened to the Blue Jackets and their fans. However, it is important for both the team and the fan base not to panic. With a few wins, they can be right back to where they were.

Blue Jackets Recall Jet Greaves On Emergency RecallThe Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that they have called up goaltender Jet Greaves on an emergency recall, as per Blue Jackets GM Don Waddell.
Here's an updated look at the Eastern Conference Wild Card race:

WC 1: Ottawa Senators - 77 points

WC 2: New York Rangers - 72 points

3. Montreal Canadiens - 71 points

4. Columbus Blue Jackets - 70 points

5. Detroit Red Wings - 68 points

6. Boston Bruins - 68 points

This is obviously not ideal for the Blue Jackets, as they have fallen from the first Wild Card spot down to fourth. They will need to clean up their play, stay together, and battle hard to get back into the second Wild Card spot.

Blue Jackets Head Coach Provides Update On Injured PlayerAfter practice today, Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Dean Evason provided an update on the injured Erik Gudbranson.
Looking ahead at the Blue Jackets' next five games:

  • March 17: New Jersey Devils
  • March 20: Florida Panthers
  • March 21: Pittsburgh Penguins
  • March 24: New York Islanders
  • March 28: Vancouver Canucks

There are a few big games ahead, and they need to come out of this next five-game stretch with at least three wins to push back into the Wild Card race.
