Lamar is looking into whether new basketball coach Pat Knight violated an NCAA rule by allowing two recruits to speak with his father, former Indiana coach Bob Knight. The Indianapolis Star reported this week that Indiana high school players Donnell Minton and Jason Smith, who both verbally committed to Lamar, talked with Bob Knight by phone during a recent campus visit.

I love Pat's response, Hey get the guys paying players he's my dad, I didn't know it was against the rules.

How in the hell can you be the son of a longtime coach, and be a coach yourself, and not know who's allowed to recruit? I know that and my dad is an optical engineer not Bobby Knight.

So stupid he used his dad to close the deal, the kid didn't know it was a violation and talked about it, pat is caught, so he goes on the offensive to try and get sympathy.

Nothing will happen it's likely not a major violation, the denial is not worth it.
