He was extremely well-liked here, but sure wouldn't be my first choice. He may be the perfect Bench Coach, however, just as AlP was a very fine 3rd-base coach. (Peter Principle before our very eyes!)
Extremely curious who will be interviewed for this job. IMO if they pick AlP, I might give up on the new ownership already. That would be a decisively stoopid move.
btw - just before leaving for Japan, somewhere I saw a little blurb that Moorad wants Billy Beane as his GM, and if he can't get him this year due to contract issues, would hold on to JoeBlows for one year and try to nab Beane then. Has anything at all been rumored around here?
