Bobby Sura

He put up some serios numbers the last two months with the Hawks. He had numerous double doubles and some games where he almost got triple doubles. This is for an off-guard! If Q does not sign, Sura may be a good option. He may go to join Shaq in South Beach. Thoughts? Dave

Sura has been an overpaid underachiever until going to Atlanta. Most people expect him to re-sign with the Hawks. He was mostly a backup with GS after his first year there and did almost nothing with the Pistons. I wouldn't get excited by a couple of good months for a 31 year old guy that has never been that impressive.

I did not think that was Sura?
I can not remember the guys name but didn't some one else do that?

Maybe Sura did it also and I did not hear about it?

You are thinking of Ricky Davis who i belive did the same thing either in 2002 or 2003. Sura did it as well towards the end of last year where he wanted to set the record of consecutive triple doubles, and on his last one, the fourth one (maybe third) he shot the ball at the hoop to get a rebound at the very end of the game.

Yeah, that was Sura. Pretty pathetic. However, I wouldn't mind having him for cheap for a 4th guard in the rotation.

I'm glad that the league overruled that last triple double.

I was not aware of what Sura had done. That is pretty weak. I think he would still be a better fourth guard than CJ.

Why bother? Sura was a career backup with a few good weeks of play. A guy who can't get minutes on GS does not do much for me.

You have to fill out the roster with 15 guys. The Suns are so young that you might as well sign some veterans to come off the bench.

No you don't. You CAN carry as many as 15 guys, but the Suns spent most of the latter part of the season with only 12.

Without Q, the Suns will have five guards: Nash, JJ, Barbosa, Jacobsen, and Eisley. With Q they will probably end up putting Eisley on IR unless someone actually gets injured.

I'm assuming that the Suns were playing with 12 because they were saving cash last year. Eisley will probably come down with back spasms next year, so there would be room for Sura.

The Suns won't sign Sura, no real reason to. I'm sure their are better performing scrubs at a cheaper price who can't wait to get a spot on a roster. Hopefully the Suns have good scouts!
