Might finally become a reality as MWC presidents vote here in a few weeks. If they choose to add BSU now, they can count their record for the past few years in consideration for an Auto BCS Bid. The MWC TV deal sucks, but the competition is much better, and would mean better SOS.

I know there have been various other conference rumblings from the Big 10 and 12, but it sounds like the Big 10 is staying put for now.

Anyone else hear any interesting rumors?

Nebraska is going to the Big 10, barring some last minute collapse.

Texas A&M is making noise about the SEC, but the SEC isn't taking the Aggies without Texas and Texas isn't going to the SEC under any circumstances.

A&M will fall in line and join Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma St. Oklahoma & Colorado in the PAC-10, probably by Monday or Tuesday. The Big 12 is dead.

Boise State has given the Mountain West Conference a 10th program.

Boise State is leaving the Western Athletic Conference, a league the Broncos have dominated for a decade in football, the MWC confirmed with a statement Friday.

"We are pleased and excited to welcome Boise State University to the Mountain West Conference," commissioner Craig Thompson said in the news release. "Since our inception just 11 short years ago, the Mountain West has experienced tremendous success, and the addition of Boise State will further enhance that strength. The MWC continues to strategize regarding potential membership scenarios and bringing Boise State into the Conference is an important part of that evolution."

There was a rumor saying Texas A&M and Virginia Tech would go to the SEC. Va Tech makes sense, if Texas A&M heads to the Pac, which I still believe will eventually happen, then I would imagine the SEC would try to get Clemson to go with Tech.

Texas A&M needs to figure out what they want to do because they could be left out in the cold. If they drag their feet trying to get into the SEC then the Pac could easily turn to Missouri or Kansas to be the 16th team.

Actually, SEC will take A&M without Texas. Anytime the SEC expands into a new market they get to renegotiate their TV contract. With A&M they get a portion of the Dallas and Houston TV markets. They don't need Texas to do that (and they know they can't have Texas). The only hold up on this is politics: Texas leaders don't want Texas and A&M to go their separate ways because then there won't be any protection for Baylor. Or whatever.

Im glad Boise St is going to the MWC, but the MWC just needs to totally re-align to have any shot at 1 BCS autobid (likely to the Fiesta). They should try to nab Hawaii and Fresno St from the WAC since theyve been good in football, and then take whatever the Big 12s left overs are after all the fall out, KU, K-State, Baylor, Iowa St. Though now Ive heard some talk about KU to the SEC which seems bizarre.

I wonder if a 12 team MWC of:
Boise St
Fresno St
Hawaii
Utah
BYU
TCU
Iowa St
Baylor
KU
KState
UNLV
UNM

Would be good enough to snag one BCS autobid while most of the Super Conferences go for 2 autobids.

I don't think that gets it done, and I don't think KU would go there without someone like Mizzou, more likely they'd go to the Big East.

Baylor is an odd duck the other schools do protect it but A&M has a lot of debt I heard.

Don't see how they're going to end up taking it anywhere with either one of them, NO way Baylor is let into the SEC IMO or the PAC 10 unless Texas demands it.

This is going to be odd.
