He has 3 years left on his contract. Lets worry about it then. A lot can happen in 3 years.

He may have said it but its complete bunk.

No way in hell he plays through 2010 and is unwilling to negotiate. He would be leaving to much money on the table. in 2010 he will be hitting 30 YOA.

This just wreaks of frustration and I would put money at some point he will say as such and all will be good.

Anquan - Right and wrong

I've always been a Boldin fan and respect the guy. If he feels he's been lied to I would tend to believe him over what the Card's front office says.

Regardless though to state you'll play out your contract and leave is just plain stupid for numerous reasons. First and foremost it sends a message to the rest of the squad that the team is out to screw you which can in no way help the team, i.e. "I'm more important than the team".

Secondly, how dumb can you be to state you'll play for a team for 3 MORE YEARS, then leave? Don't wounds heal, salary caps expand, GM's leave, etc.???

Not rational and not expected from what used to be a leader.

Very disappointed.

Let's just play him three more years and then draft another receiver. We were looking for another receiver when we drafted Boldin as I remember. Or we could put all the blame of Rod Graves for drafting a malcontent in the first place. (For all you RG bashers out there)

Hell no! Hester is a one dimensional special teams player. Love him and what he brings. But no thanks.

But then Breaston becomes a full time WR.

WHich is a completely unproven player who dropped everything in sight last year when the pads were flying.

Um, Hester is planning a year-long holdout for a new deal.

That is why this is great timing.

Fitz, Breaston and Doucet can work. Early Doucet could be the next Boldin.

Lets trade him straight up for Champ Bailey.

I would do that all day and twice on Sunday. If they can deal him for an all pro player or a 1st round pick they should do it. If not, hang onto him and let him bitch and whine. He's under contract for multiple years so I would call his bluff.

What troubles me is that he showed up to camp and is saying this, right at the time of the year when the team is supposed to be focusing on cameraderie, and "We do this together." I noticed that Boldin is not featured on the team's new commercial. We all know that 1. Fitz has more God given talent, and 2. we can't keep both. I am at peace with the notion that he could get traded, but if they F up the trade I will be pissed. This could be a golden opportunity to make a deal to put the team over the top if they execute it correctly. His comments today are Busch Light.

Watch how Cincy handled Chad Johnson and you'll see how the Cards respond to this.

IMHO, Boldin isn't going anywhere. He is as likely to leave at the end of his contract today, as he was likely to leave it yesterday.

Theres no bluff to call because he has no leverage. He will renegotiate or he will be traded. My bet is on the former. No player in their right mind would wait till 2010 to go for another contract when they are going to be 30 years old.

Just another long line of statements mad by athletes that they end up regretting and likely dont mean. Just frustrated. Doesnt make it right but thats what this is.

What a freaking crybaby. Any respect I had for Q just went right out the window.

I wonder what the crowd reaction will be like at Training Camp when they see him? Anyone who is there, post whether or not he's booed when he comes on the field.

Seriously, I hope a ton of people up there give him a hard time. What a bunch of crap. "WAAAAAAHHHHH! THEY PROMISED AND THEY BROKE THEIR PROMISE!! WAAAAAAAHHH!"

Yeah, life isn't fair all the time. I really feel bad for you. You get to play a game you love for millions and never have to work again. Shut the hell up.

God, I can't believe TO is more of a team player than Boldin right now.

So by my count that's Boldin, Dansby and Dockett all furious and Fitz happy as a clam with his new contract?

Can you imagine what would happen if we won 12 games this year, the whole team would hold out.
