Perkins/Robinson for Green/Kristic

Celts just got better.

They can run a potent smallball with Rondo-Allen-Green-Pierce-Garnett and they would eat people alive....

Agreed. Celtics just became the best team in the NBA IMO.

I think the Celtics got screwed in this deal. The Thunder made out in this deal and then their other deal to get Mohammed was solid also. Thunder moved to the top 3 in the west.

Typical. The fat get fatter and we get worse. I hate being a Suns fan these days. We still got Steve Nash though.

BLAH.

Can someone explain why they gave up Nate Robinson? I thought that guy was key in backing up Rondo during their run last year. Who is going to be doing that now? Guess I haven't been watching enough games.

the biggest advantage the C's had over the rest of the league was the wave of size they could throw at opponents, ESPECIALLY the Lakers. Now, they're depending on just the broken down O'Neals? Trade makes no sense to me.

Absolutely. ******** trade, now puts the Heat ahead of the C's in my mind. Perkins was an extremely underrated part of that team. OKC is now probably on par with the Lakers at this point.

Actually, it makes perfect sense to me. The Celts are losing steam and they knew they wouldn't be able to beat both the Heat and the Lakers/Spurs winner so they decided to send OKC what they would need in order to win it all. They couldn't take a chance that their rival Lakers would add another championship and they absolutely didn't want Lebron to get there. They'd have done nothing if they were sure the Spurs would hold up but the best analysis shows that Duncan will be completely out of gas by April.

BTW, I'm only about 5% serious here but it's the only explanation I can come up with for this bizarre trade.

Steve

Perkins only gave them some size though. Dude has missed a ton of games and the Celtics have done it without relying on him. So, it's no real loss from that perspective. Adding Green and Kristic gives them some more healthy bodies to throw at teams. They might miss Nates shooting but it's not like the Celts don't have shooters.

What I should have said is they could be the best team in the NBA as a result of this trade. It definitely was a risky move that could backfire but it could make them scary good too.

Most baffling trade of the day. The only thing I could think of that it was for the future for the Celtics. Which doesn't make any sense since they are still built for winning now. Jump starting the inevitable rebuild maybe?

Great trade for OKC though--they've probably replaced Dallas now as the Spurs and Lakers biggest competition.

Well Durant better be prepared to score more. They lose tons of points only to gain 3 more rebounds.
I am not sure what either team is thinking but i like it for the Celts more.
