Bradford...Luck

I think Luck will be good and I'm not saying that Bradford was exactly a can't miss draft pick but he did not look that awesome today. There is a good chance that Luck will be a stud but it has so much to do with the team and you just don't know how the college level will translate to the pros regardless of the system the kid is in college. Bradford did not look special today and his stats where hardly better than Skelton as whole and John had a TD and no picks (but then there was those two safties LOL) Would I draft Luck? You bet, even if I had a QB because you could get a nice trade from someone but to suck for Luck has flaws.

No matter how good the QB coming out of college is,-----in order to be successful in the NFL, he has to be given the chance to be successful by his coaching staff. Many good ones never get to become starters because they play a whole career behind a super QB. Some never get the chance to start because they are injured early on. Some never get the chance to start because they are ruined by either a lousy coaching staff, or a lousy offensive scheme. Some simply go to teams with no hope of winning. Few really get the chance to excell.

He's the best at reading opposing defenses, and knows exactly how to attack them. Against Manning, you can't stack the box, and you can't make mistakes. Without Manning, teams are loading up the box and are forcing the QB to throw on heavy blitzes. Now that teams don't have to worry about the Colts scoring, they can just run the ball down their throats, since its an under-sized pass rushing defense.

some quarterbacks just have those special instincts. We used to have one here too

Says alot about our coaching staff... how many QBs we gonna let whiz f up then run out of town before we realize maybe they are not the problem!

Agreed. No such thing as a "can't-miss" prospect. That being said, watching Luck play, he seems to be at a different level than Bradford was coming out of college. I think what a lot of people are seeing with Luck is a Peyton Manning-type QB that can take over the entire game. We'll see if he lives up to the billing I guess!
