McCarthey was put on the dl with shoulder inflammation. Delgado, who has stunk up the place at Reno, was called up and will come out of the pen. I really hope the injury to Brandon is not serious but any time you have shoulder inflammation, it's not good. Skaggs will take his place in the rotation.

So if Skaggs is taking McCarthy's place and Delgado is being called up... Who is the odd man out?

That is what I was thinking. I got the info from Steve Berthiaume.

I think only Delgado has been called up and he will be sent down in time to bring in Skaggs once his turn in the rotation comes up

Delgado had a slow start with Reno but improved to 1-1 with a 2.16 ERA in his last three starts. Maybe they wil give him a shot now and save Skaggs until after the All Star break.

Daniel Hudson has to return soon. Delgado's call up won't be for long, IMO.

According to Piecoro, Skaggs was scratched from his start yesterday, so it looks like he'll pitch Tuesday in St. Louis.
