It will be nice to see Pendergraph live in the playoffs this year, bitter sweet actually.

It's official... Roy is out...

http://www.nba.com/blazers/news/Roy_to_undergoes_successful_ar-280182-1218.html

And btw, its facinating how thrilled Blazer fans are and how confident they seem in this series...

I was gonna post the same thing. In the playoff preview on espn.com they had a sidebar saying the blazers were thrilled to get the suns yesterday.

Before, I felt sympathy for them with Roy out. Reading that stuff the sympathy is gone. Let' s whip there ass in 5 and move onto bigger stuff.

Kinda funny, I wish he would have tried to go at 80%. It would have been a failure, and would have severely affected their game plan. Either way, I don't see any reason why we should wrap the series up in 5 games, 6 at most.

I wish he were going, because we saw the overconfidence the Suns had last time he didn't play. If the Suns can overcome themselves, then the Blazers shouldn't win a game.

They think they match up better against us than anyone else in the top seeds. And they are correct. That does not mean they will beat us.

Their physicality will negate some of what we do especially if the refs give them free rein. I still think we win but I expect it to go at least 5 and probably 6 games. And if we do advance I wouldn't be surprised to see us limp into the next series. They don't have the hot-heads that Denver and a few others have but I really believe they are the most physical team in the west and probably in the league.

And they get to add Oden to the mix next year. If that guy can ever stay healthy, they will be very physically intimidating.

Way to call the refs giving them free reign AzStevencal! Some awful NBA officiating would expect nothing less against the Suns in the playoffs!

It's the same problem we've had against McMillan coached teams for years now. He had Seattle playing the same way and we usually struggled against them also. If we draw refs that consider that kind of contact inappropriate we'll win but if not we'll struggle.

I look at it this way, we have problems with this kind of physical play in the regular season (Portland, SA, Milwaukee, LA, CLE etc.) so it's a safe bet it's going to be even tougher for us in the much looser called playoffs. Because of this, we probably get hurt worse missing Robin than they do missing Roy even though he's their best player. I've said it before, Portland was perhaps our worst possible 1st round matchup.

Just stop with the officiating garbage already please. Its embarrassing.
NEVER bring the officiating card to a smackdown son.....:)

The refs definitely influenced the outcome of this game. I'm not talking about blown calls, but a style of officiating. There were bad calls both ways like there are in every game but these refs allowed a level of contact that put us at a disadvantage. It's always the risk when you play more of a finesse game and it's exaggerated when you match up against a very physical team.

Aggressive team gets the calls. It's ALWAYS been that way, and it always will.
When you play like a bunch of 12 year old girls, you're not going to get the calls. When you play like you actually want to win, you get the calls.

The Suns were plenty aggressive -- they went into the lane over and over again, only to run into the brick wall that is Camby. It's really not true that Portland was the aggressor. The difference was that Portland looked better organized and more responsive to what the Suns' defense was giving them, whereas the Suns just kept stubbornly banging their heads into a wall. One strategy is smarter than the other, but neither should be considered more aggressive.

Stoudemire's biggest failing last night was his inability to make his mid-range jump shot. If he doesn't have to be guarded out there, his options become very limited. You need one threat to set up the other.
