Per Adam Schefter

Jets free agent WR Braylon Edwards is scheduled to meet tonight with the San Francisco 49ers. Could be a prime spot for a 1-yr deal.

I hope they don't let him leave San Fran without a contract! Perfect type of player to tutor Crabtree.

Hope so...

I have to think that given the option of playing with Fitz/Kolb vs Alex Smith and it shouldn't be a competition...

If he indeed chooses SF on a one year deal he is dumber than anyone could have thought...

Malcolm Floyd!
I'd rather have Floyd as well. I think he is a better fit (stretches the field). He also doesn't have two things Edwards has: the dropsy's and character issues.

Floyd is older and would likely accept a shorter contract than the long term contract Edwards reportedly is seeking.

cant believe we even consider this loser.

I understand your sentiment & I'm a pretty straight-laced guy. But, I'm sick of watching other teams sign risky players that SOMETIMES pay huge dividends. I'd like to see the Cardinals occasionally take a risk & sign someone like Edwards. Just keep him on a short leash & handle him like the Patriots do.....zero tolerance.

look i dont care if you smoke weed or if you get in trouble at a bar one night because you drank too much and fell on your face but this guy KILLED someone drinking and driving and then got another DUI!!!!! now hes in kitchen knife fights where people get stabbed? This dude is a loser and is getting in trouble right now, not a situation where he made a mistake and could fix his wrong. he is still making horrible mistakes.

Mike vick messed up, went to jail and came out a better man. Id sign him.

Pacman is a criminal piece of garbage, would never sign him.

Braylon appears to me a pacman type, not a vick type.

Vick can play football, Edwards can play football, Pacman cannot play football. No doubt, Edwards is a risk. If it doesn't pan out, then dump him. If it does work out, we can possibly go to the Super Bowl. I'll take that chance right now.

oh...that was stallworth....well...stallworth is a loser!

either way, he apparently rolls with a group of thugs, gets in kitchen fights and has a dui, I still wouldnt take him.

If you were a sales manager and saw an impressive sales resume with a criminal backround check of rape would you hire the guy? I wouldnt.

I know many people that have DUI's and have been in a couple fights yet they are still good people, just shouldn't be drinking at times. Also rape is not nearly the same as a DUI and not a good comparison.

They get in fights in the kitchen of the bar and stab people? I agree rape is nothing like a dui but someone who runs around stabbing and beating people in a kitchen is as much as a loser.

ill never damn someone for having a dui itself, violent behavior is a whole nother ballgame. DUI conducted by millionaires is pretty stupid too.

I didn't see it written that Edwards stabbed anyone? I read exchanged blows. Why is a DUI worse for a millionaire then anyone else? Not that I condone it just saying?

According to both sources, he mistook a bus boy only identified as "Dave" for a bouncer and charged into the kitchen after him. Edwards reportedly tackled Dave (described as a big guy who looks like a linebacker) and the two exchanged blows before they were separated.
