In just over a month, the 2025 NFL draft kicks off and we can finally get to the biggest part of the NFL offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers. After a huge trade for wide receiver DK Metcalf, free agency came and went with very little in terms of upgrades and more good players left than joined the team.

Chad Reuter of NFL Network has a new four-round mock draft out and we are going to take a look at the Steelers picks.

First round - RB Omarion Hampton - North Carolina

Hampton is a great way to kick off this draft for the Steelers. When I watch Hampton play, he reminds me a lot of Najee Harris if Harris had an elite burst and explosion.

Third round - QB Tyler Shough - Louisville

Spending a Top 100 pick on Shough doesn't feel like a great use of this pick. Shough has some NFL traits but you don't draft a developmental player with the No. 83 overall choice.

Fourth round - EDGE Josaiah Stewart - Michigan

The draft really went off the rails for the Steelers here. The last thing the Steelers need to spend vital draft capital on is a rotational pass rusher. The team has T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig to rush the passer so Stewart is a reach at best.

Summary

If the draft goes down like this, we doubt many fans would be ok with it. Hampton is a great pick but Reuter has quarterbacks flying off the board. If I have to pick between Shough in the third or wait until the fifth for a guy like Will Howard, Brady Cook or Riley Cooper, I'll take my chances with one of them. As for Stewart, selecting him over a defensive tackle Omar Norman-Lott or Jordan Phillips makes zero sense for the Steelers.
