Never say never, right?

Ashton Jeanty seems unlikely to fall to the Denver Broncos in the NFL draft (some pundits think it's possible), but the team could trade up for him in the first round.

Even if Denver does not land Jeanty in April, he could become a free agent in four or five years, and Denver could face him multiple times between now and then. So it makes sense that the team is doing its due diligence on the top running back in this year's class.

Broncos running backs coach Lou Ayeni was spotted at Boise State's pro day on Wednesday, with Jeanty being the biggest draw of the day's workouts.

Jeanty (5-8, 211 pounds) finished second in Heisman Trophy voting last fall after rushing for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns with college football's Broncos. He is now projected to be the first running back picked in the 2025 NFL draft (April 24-26).

Denver holds seven draft picks this year, including No. 20 overall in the first round.
