Through two weeks of preseason play, Chad Kelly has the Broncos’ best passer rating — 116.9. That easily edges out the ratings of Case Keenum (66.5) and Paxton Lynch (37.3). Kelly’s not playing like a seventh-round pick entering his first real season in the NFL — he’s playing like a capable backup. Denver’s staff hasn’t committed to him as the backup quarterback, though. “So far, he’s doing a great job,” Broncos coach Vance Joseph said after practice Tuesday. “I can’t say what more he can do. Obviously, we’ve got two more games, so continue to play well.
