The Cleveland Browns have officially returned an undrafted free agent from the 2024 class as linebacker Winston Reid has signed his exclusive rights free agent tender.

This news was first broken by Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. Ahead of the 2025 NFL draft, the Browns look to have at least their linebacker room locked up after bringing back both Reid and Devin Bush, then signing Jerome Baker as well.

Reid was an exclusive rights-free agent because he had one accrued season and an expired contract. The Browns extended an ERFA tender to him, which prevented him from negotiating with other teams. Reid essentially had no other choice but to sign the tender, which will be a one-year contract worth $960k for the 2025 season.

In his first NFL season out of Weber State, the undrafted linebacker saw most of his time on special teams. Reid played in 87 percent of the special teams snaps this season compared to just 14 percent of the defensive snaps. His most extended defensive game was in Week 18 against the Ravens, where he recorded five total tackles and one pressure.

Cleveland signed Jerome Baker and re-signed Devin Bush this offseason, but Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah's status remains uncertain. Reid will compete for a roster spot this summer for linebacker and special teams depth.
