Okay, where is your evidence of that? Other than the persona the media has fed you about him.

Do you know him? Are you personal friends with him? Were you in the hotel that night? Was it really you who was driving that cab?

Please, enlighten us. I think you could provide a real break in the case.

The same questions you just asked about Kobe apply to the girl. We each have our own opinion and have reasons why we stand by it.

By the way, do any of you remember what happened to Jerome Bettis last year?

The one question that people who know I'm a basketball fan have been asking me, which really pisses me off is "Do you think Kobe did it?"

I don't even think I have enough actual information to make a decision about a presidential election, let alone a sexual assault charge against two people I've never met, one of whom I have only happened to see in person because I paid for a ticket to a sporting event(and a cheap ticket, at that).

Well, my opinion is that we don't know what happened. Others appear to be of the opinion that the girl is a *****. But nobody has outright said, "Kobe did it, fry him." (except for some irrational emotional outbursts that the start of the thread)

Which opinion is the most responsible?

Media *****? no

Extremely naive? yes.

On a sidenote, at my high school we had this basketball player that I would describe as "Kobe-like".

Very well spoken, intelligent, got really good grades, on student council, etc.

Well I found out that he raped a few girls that I knew at school, and he immediately moved away. I realized that you can't go on what you see. Anyone can commit crimes like that.

Sorry Stefan, you sound like one of the types who were ready to stone the prostitute as told in your bible.

Can you show me where we are told to stone the prostitute?

I am sorry guys, but I am defending an innocent man who made a bad mistake of cheating on his wife. We will see what happens.

Nothing. It was completely fabricated, and Bettis didn't even know the person.

Kobe had sex with this girl. Apples and Oranges.

We know he cheated on his wife, but we don't know whether it was consensual or not.

I happen to believe it was.

But you are condemning a supposedly innocent victim and calling her a *****. Where's your decency Stefan?

You werent told to, dummy. I'm talking about the parable about the people ready to stone the prostitute. Remember what Jesus said to those people???

You're not living up to your christian lifestyle. Not one friggin bit.

If in the end Kobe is found innocent, and the girl has a bunch of evidence that proves her to be a star seeking money seeking person then we can all rise up in indignance at the behavior, but we still cannot judge her, as it is not our jobs, and we absolutely CANNOT make those statements until such evidence has been provided. As of now, it hasn't, and you are coming across like a horses ass.

How? You're assuming, not believing, it was. And you're assuming based on the rhetoric the media has fed you over and over about Kobe. The fact that he committed adultery should tell you that the media wasn't entirely correct, which in turn places doubt on almost everything the media says about him, including that he is an angel.

You can believe that all you want, but obviously the District Attorney doesn't agree. DAs don't take something to trial unless they think that it will be a win.

Very true.

Stefan: You are supposedly held to a higher standard by your beliefs. You aren't meeting that standard one bit.

I respect you, and I expect more out you.

Hey, I stand by every single statement I made in this thread, at the risk of being proven wrong. I believe in justice and I believe the justice will be served in this case.

If Kobe is found guilty, and the 19 year old chick is a decent person who was telling the truth, I will admit that I was wrong.
Until then, I stand by my earlier statements and I am confident that the court of law is going to prove what I said.

If you think I am being harsh wait until you see what Bryants attorney will do to her.

Another thing- I never cared about the popular oppinion or about being "Politically Correct". I am calling it as I see it. If I am wrong, I will admit it and apologize.

But it isn't your job to defend him. You are not his attorney :D.

I have a ton of respect for defense attorneys. They are forced to call a victim a *****, even though they might not really believe it.

It's not your job to prosecute him any more than it is my job to defend him.

Well considering there isn't enough evidence to do either right now, the last two pages of this thread are worthless.

Not necessarily. Perhaps the DA was afraid of the backlash in his county if he didn't bring charges. The DA is a political office after all.

I believe that if there was hard physical evidence of forced intercourse then charges would have been brought sooner.

This will almost certainly come down to "he said/she said" and if that is the case, then there is no way he will be convicted.

Puhleaze.

Considering everyone from the media to her own supposed "friends" are against her, how much backlash do you think there would be?? If anything, bringing the charges would provide more backlash, and that has happened.

Can't argue with that. There isn't enough evidence right now, but since Krangand you are not the DAs, and Freddie and I are not Bryants attorneys, we are allowed to speculate.

We'll see what happens.

And yes, perhaps I was to hars in my judgment. I still stand by everything I said, but I do admit that perhaps I was a bit too harsh.
