Bryce James, the youngest son of Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, signed with the University of Arizona on Thursday, the program announced.
James, listed at 6 feet, 4 inches, is currently a senior at Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles, California. He is a three-star prospect and ranked No. 257 in the country and the No. 47 shooting guard in the class of 2025, according to 247Sports.
The 17-year-old James announced his commitment to head coach Tommy Lloyd and Arizona on Jan. 1. He chose the Wildcats over Duquesne and Ohio State after taking an unofficial visit to the campus with his mother, Savannah, in November.
James was among at least a dozen shooting guard prospects in the country who were unsigned entering the new year. He is highly touted for his size and shooting ability off the ball and should have the opportunity to play next season.
Aided by the addition of James, the Wildcats are ranked seventh in 247Sports' overall team rankings in 2025. Lloyd has also signed Koa Peat (No. 8 prospect), Brayden Burries (No. 11) and Dwayne Aristode (No. 28), while adding Evan Nelson from Harvard.
The Wildcats made their fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament this past season, advancing to the Sweet 16 for the second straight year. The team is 112-33 in four seasons under Lloyd.
