Buckeye’s WR Weatherford Named H.S. Player-of-the-Week

Tempe, Arizona — Buckeye High School wide
receiver/defensive back Billy Ray Weatherford has been
named this week’s Arizona Cardinals’ “High School
Player-of-the Week.”
Weatherford collected 305 all-purpose yards and four
touchdowns in a 36-21 victory over (El Mirage) Dysart
High School last Friday. Weatherford had nine
receptions for 226 yards and also collected four
interceptions in the Hawks victory.
The Cards’ “Player-of-the-Week” award is selected by a
local sports panel consisting of Cardinals Director of
Community Relations Luis Zendejas, Cardinals
play-by-play voice Dave Pasch, and KDUS Radio (1060 AM)
talk show host Mike Jurecki.
A football plaque acknowledging the award will be
presented to Weatherford by a Cardinals player at a
ceremony on Thursday, November 13 at the Cardinals’
south Tempe training facility following the team’s
morning practice.
