The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are running it back with a favorite target of Baker Mayfield's, going all the way back to their college days at Oklahoma. The Bucs are bringing back wide receiver Sterling Shepard on a one-year deal after he joined the team initially in 2024.

The news was broken by someone who wouldn't confirm his source but is in the right position to report it. Jason Licht, Bucs General Manager, announced the news on social media himself, bypassing any NFL media outlets.

Shepard was drafted by the New York Giants in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft after a college career at Oklahoma. He was a member of the PFWA's All-Rookie Team and has since floated through the previous nine years of his career before the Giants moved on in 2024. After he was waived last Summer, he signed with the Bucs and proved to make some big plays in big moments.

He now returns to the Bucs looking to build on his 2024 season, where he caught 32 passes for 334 receiving yards and one touchdown.
