Anytime we can hear folks talk about the quarterback position, it creates and leads to points to consider. When you get two of the best general managers in the NFL to do it in John Schneider of the Seahawks and Jason Licht of the Buccaneers, it is must watch TV.

On Wednesday, former NFL front office executive Mike Tannebaum sat down with those general managers and talked to them about the quarterback position. Tannenbaum asked Schneider and Licht what makes the quarterback position so tough to evaluate, and they pointed to players getting reps in the right system. Licht went on to point out a thought that many people have when it comes to quarterbacks.

"It makes you wonder how many good quarterbacks went by the wayside, that we gave up on too early, just because they weren't getting the reps."

Licht went on to explain why it worked, bringing in someone like Baker Mayfield, who had the reps but still struggled in spots during his career.

"At least with Baker (Mayfield), with us, maybe he had a rough patch early in his career, but he felt like he was wanted (in Tampa Bay) by the coaching staff, the GM, the players, we wanted him. And I think there is a physiological advantage to that. . ."
