What a pleasant surprise, I've been wanting to put another gig in my desktop. Where would be the best place to go to take advantage of this? I was just going to get it at Fry's, but I don't know how much they are influenced by these sort of fluctuations.

Jeez. I knew memory prices in general were low, as evidenced by SD cards selling for at $20 for a GB.

Dude, at Fry's I picked up a 2 GB SD card for 25 bucks for wifey's new camera.

Wow.

Just bought 2gb (2 x 1gb) RAM from Newegg for $63 shipped. I wonder how much further the price will drop before it will start going back up again.

I'm going to be getting some for my computer, and I'm wondering how much to get. I'm pretty sure I have 512MB right now, and this thing is constantly choking up on me. I often need to have several processes running at once, and I almost always have WMP going on as well. Any thoughts or suggestions? I will probably be needing to burn dvds in the near future for work as well, which I don't think this could even DO right now.

Thanks for any advice.

Well, I did me some research, cuz I be smart. The most my computer can handle is 2gb, so I guess I'll max this puppy out. :D

How come I couldn't find anything cheaper than ~$70 for 1gb? Was it because I have 184 pin? That was the only difference I could see for price...Oh, well. It's on my work's tab, so I don't really care too much. Just curious.

184 pin isn't the mainstream memory at this point in time so it isn't produced as much as DDR2 (240 Pin).

I got the Wintec 240-pin DDR2 667, the cheapest one they had. Didn't know the brand but there were good reviews.

You don't really need a heat spreader. RAM chips never really get that hot.

It's been a while since you gotten it.

BTW, you should save your receipt and write it off as a business expense
Yes, yes it has. Thank you for reminding me... :p

I can't save my receipt. I'm turning it into my boss & he's reimbursing me.

Unless you overclock them
