I cant help but wonder if he is thinking, is this some twisted "karma" for busting Wallace's Ribs/Lungs.
Sad to see a young player suffer so much injury, last injury was also estimated to last 8-12 weeks.
Hope he recovers fully, not sure how much impact it will have on the squad seeing how they got to the finals without him last season.

oh darn...

he ain't coming back this year. 3 months out for a big man is never good and just look what happened last year with him.

they'll probably still make the finals but SA becomes much tougher now.

You dont crack a guys ribs or collapse his lung by a "mild" hit. that was a vicious elbow with arm bent and elbow pointed at wallace on contact. I know Bynum isnt historically dirty, but this could be the start if he doesnt reconsider the use of that kind of "foul".

Wasn't 8-12 weeks the exact timetable last year, at almost the exact same point of the season? He's done this year.

I get the vibe that he is going to become one of those always injured types.

Suicide watch? I think not.

We are still a contender and better team than last year without Bynum. If he cannot come back prior to the playoffs it will only take away our "over the top" player. I don't expect any of your to relate. As for the playoffs without Drew, It will all depend on the matchups.

As for the injury to Wallace, you obviously are looking through your Laker hater glasses if you think it was an intended cheap shot and to suggest his injury in Karma is just plain absurd. Was it a hard hit... obviously. It was also somewhat of a fluke as everyone of you has seen much harder hits with not even a scratch incured. I hope both players have a speedy recovery. For anyone to relish in an injury... is PATHETIC!!!

And to suggest Kobe flopped into Bynums knee.... well, I wont even comment on that one. :bang:

You accuse people of wearing Laker hater glasses then call Bynum an over the top player?!? SOLID use of hypocrisy. A+

Takes a lot of focus to land an elbow so hard it breaks ribs and collapses a freakin lung.

Kobe was being dramatic and you could scrape the guilt off his face with the back of a spoon after the incident. That look doesnt come after an unavoidable trip.

Over the top... as in the icing on the cake...as in the Lakers are still a contender but with Drew it takes the "team" over the top and makes them the favorite. It that a hard concept to grasp? Practically every article written on the Lakers this year has addressed it.

So you actually think Drew intentionally tried to elbow and hurt Wallace? Not even Wallace's coach or teamates think that. You're entitled to your opinion though.

The look on Kobe's face is the look you see when your teamate is writhing on the floor in agony and nothing more. I was a fluke play and anything but a flop. Kobe most definetly does his griping and whining for fouls but I don't think you could classifly him a flopper. Well, you could, but most wouldn't.

Is it so hard to believe that we will rejoice in the Lakers mis-fortune? They are division rival who is playing great basketball, but no one is relishing Bynum's injury. That you don't think it is some sort of Karma for Wallace ribs and lungs is just the Laker fan in you talking. Bear in mind, that it is not the only "extremely" hard foul committed by Bynum this season, remember the Lebron foul?
Funny he may not have sustained this injury if Stern had only can his A$$ for the Wallace flagrant.

Kobe definitely carried the team yesterday at MSG, it took 61 points from him and another 30+ from Gasol to beat the Knicks 126 - 117.
It is obvious that Bynum would be missed but going back to his Kome mindset is not gonna be beneficial for the team in the long run.

It would, however, take away one of the biggest advantages the Lakers have over other teams especially the Spurs. It also gives the Suns much better matchups if they can actually make to the playoffs.

Yes, and I'd say more than likely.

I would never wish a bad injury on any player. Having said that, it does change things for the Lakers. They have been a much better interior team with Bynum IMO.

If Bynum can't come back just like last time....it does impact that team. I thought with Bynum they matched up better with San Antonio and with the Celtics for that matter.

While I'm positive that this wasn't the case, Kobe sure did look like he was pissed at Bynum for getting hurt.
