Crazy?

Is it? Murray might be done until 2024. Do we head into 2023 with McCoy? Sign a free agent? If so who?

Many here didn’t believe in Murray before the injury. What will he be coming back off an injury like this? Why not start over with a rookie and a rookie contract since we are stuck with Murray’s contract?

I can’t bear to think about starting next season with some retread like Wentz or Mayfield or Trubisky or Rudolph or McCoy.

The only thing that would spark interest next year is a rookie Qb that could turn into a guy like a Herbert.

I've been a fan since 88. The only time we drafted the best player regardless of position was Fitzgerald when we already had Boldin.

Any other year, we defer because the best player in the board plays the same position as someone on the roster who is just good enough.

I'm all about drafting a QB1.

We don't have one on our roster anyway.

This franchise is such a train wreck that SK is going to again be at the controls in drafting a QB in the first round? Wow. That would pretty much tell you all you need to know about this ongoing dysfunctional mess.

Seems crazy to me. With so much $$ locked up in Kyler we'd be missing out on the actual benefits of the rookie QB contract for whoever we draft.

No, if we want to do it right, we spend the next 2-3 years building up the rest of the team from the trenches out and then draft a new QB once most of Kyler's cap hit is gone.

I'd rather have Will Levis from Kentucky. Bigger & more accurate arm. 6'4" & tough as nails, runs like Josh Allen, not afraid of contact.
You can fill in any name you want. It’s an opportunity ( based on initial reports) to “ start over” at the QB position. We will be without Kyler next year, much like Max Williams.

I would certainly look at some of the guys in the middle rounds.

Definitely...Bring in a 3rd rounder with potential...Roll with Colt as long as possible. Worst case, you have a 3rd rounder to back up Murray when he comes back and Colt retires.
If we were looking for a longterm Kyler backup then Dorian Thompson Robinson probably fits in the late rounds. Hey Brock Purdy is working.
