Plot Outline: Through the eyes of a british "documentary", this film takes a satirically humorous, and sometimes frightening, look at the history of an America where the South won the Civil War.

Plot Synopsis: Set in an contemporary alternative world where the Confederate States of America managed to win the American Civil War, a British film documentary examines the history of this nation. Beginning with its conquest of the northern states, the film covers the history of this state where racial enslavement became triumphant and the nation carried sinister designs of conquest. Interspersed throughout are various TV commercials of products of a virulent racist nature as well as public service announcements promoting this tyranny. Only at the end do you learn that there is less wholly imagined material in the film than you might suspect.

I stumbled across this one at Blockbuster. I was pretty disappointed, but I cant really put my finger on the reason why.

Maybe because it's a non-American view of what America would have become? Perhaps an American view would have been more intriguing?

Maybe because Harry Turtledove has done excellent alternate histories on this subject, and they should have used his stories, or at least his input.

Maybe because it was a beat you over the head film about racism with no nuance and no room for interpretation or discussion? Or maybe its cause it sucked sick through a sweaty sock? Im going for both. I made it 20 minutes and shut it off. So lame. Interesting premise, HORRIBLE execution.
