With this rivalry starting to heat up Laker fans kinda have taken over the board with Pro Laker rhetoric. From my vantage point the Suns defense hasn't been as overwhelming as I would like. Ya know with this being a Suns board and all.

I like all the newbies and the different POV's but I also long for the good discussion we had once Nash came on board back in 05.

We need a call to arms: Calling out all intelligent Suns fans of yesteryear. Rally the troops and start posting more. Otherwise you may click on this forum one day and it will say "Lakers Forum".

that or make a lakers forum and they can just go away.

I actually like the healthy debate.

It just seems like Donald, Abomb, and Darth are the most consistent posters the last few weeks (insert "Laker fans don't have anything to do but "netbang" all day" joke here;)) and this is actually one of the best times I can remember to be a Suns fan.

Just askin for a little reinforcement from the old guard I guess....

I don't have the energy to post here regularly anymore. I wrote something about the overly reactionary tendencies of this board, said I was considering stepping away, and was responded to with a "good riddance". This board is still enjoyable when things are going well-- but every time D'Antoni makes a passive comment, or the Suns lose a game, people act like we're bracing for a nuclear attack.

Yeah I get the concept, I talk cards and watch suns, dont have anything to say that isnt already said.

Excited about shaq, think amare should never play C again he is so dominant at PF, the whole team was open often when shaq showed up, need to get a good flow going and we should be dominant.

Kobe sold his soul to the devil, only way he can be that good.

Enjoy it now laker fans, because before long we will be sending you home for the season!

Well consider this your welcome back.

I agree with your sentiment. Just reply to the posters with whom you like to chat with.

You can't control how others are going to react. Just let em jump overboard after every loss and take it with a grain of salt when they say "I have been there from the beginning";)

Totally agree, it's kind of disheartening seeing that so many people just can't enjoy sports for what it is.

Also, I'm pretty pissed I wasn't included in the list of intelligent posters. I mean, come on, what the hell? I'm smart.

I know this wasn't directed only at me, but I will respond personally, since I can't speak for Donald, abomb, Renz, or anyone else.

Honestly, if it bugs a lot of you that I post here (almost exclusively on Laker topics started by others), I will gladly go away.

I have been posting on here, and the previous variations of this board, since the rivals days (8 years or so). In that time, I have almost always been respectful and to my recollection never once posted to gloat over any Laker victory. With all that said, if me coming here and posting my thoughts is an issue, and the majority of the board wants me gone, I'll go.

By the way, I am not trying to overreact to the OP, I just understand that it is your board and if guys like us posting are really a problem, I don't mind walking away.

Cheese really needs to return. You are a good fan to throw jabs back and forth with, but cheesie is fun to debate. He doesn't post until a few months, so he said.

BTW, with Shaq now in Phoenix it is a full-blown rivalry...and it is fun!

I think Chris said something about this a while back about how it's definitely not a problem as long as you guys are respectful. For every one "LakeShowMan" there's like 7 "KobeLuvr32531" trolls who try to relate every Suns topic back to the Lakers. I think that's more the problem that AZ Finest was speaking to.

Dont listen lakeshowman, fans who love and respect the game are needed to keep this board a notch above, regardless of who their team is. Yes, even rude suns fans can drag the quality of the discussion to the gutter, somebody has to counterbalance that, set a good tone. Besides fans from other teams that are good sports busts the myth that fans from other teams are all trolls.

No doubt. Trolls are a scourge on any board.

Also, I wasn't trying to be a martyr or anything, I just look at this as if I was a guest in someone's house. If I ever over stayed my welcome, I would leave.

My Bannerman's armies are mobilized and ready for action. Let me know if Phoenix wants to get serious. I may just have to raise my own men and trust me, you don't want to that happen. See you on the battlefield.

For me, I am loving the NBA right now. I read your threads to learn more about your team because I havent watched many Suns games (been watching them more lately for some reason). Nothing bugs me more than the expert of someone else's team. Put in your work, due your research and then talk about the other team.

I think there is a lot of value in visiting fans on a home team's board. I think most of us Lakers fans have even warded off a few trolls outselves on this board. The core of us "good" Lakers fans are here to share ideas, philosophies and information with you guys (with a little fun trash talk along the way). :)

let me see if i got this right laker fans are coming in here, bashing the suns and saying that the lakers are the best? let me think why they would believe that they are anything. is it the fact that they got thrown out of the playoffs the last 2 years in a roll in the first round? is it the fact they have won some game during the regular season only to go down in flame to the only coach who has ever handed phil jackson a first round lose? or is it the fact that kobe will shoot them out of games once the playoffs come? is it the thought that since shaq left the lakers the lakers under kobe havent made it out of the first round? in other words the lakers have and will continue to be an also ran until they prove that they are something differant in the playoffs.

just like dallas fans they will continue to run off at the mouth until kobe leads the lakers to an early fishing trip for the summer.

If by chance the Lakers do win the World Title this year, and the year after that, and the year after that, will you give them their due ? Or will there still be this albatross you want to hang over Kobe and attach an asterisks to denote a special circumstance as to why the Lakers were able to do what they have ?

Remember this: The past two seasons you played opposite a Lakers team that included a journeyman PG in Smush Parker, a non-factor utility forward in Luke Walton and a defense-oriented Center/PF in Kwame who couldnt catch an STD if it was lobbed towards him. Most of what the Lakers accomplished came at the hands of Phil doing a superb job with minimal talent, a young team, and a plethora of injuries. This youth has no been adorned with experience thru the learning experiences of the past couple seasons and now augmented with more talent with the development and progression of Bynum, along with the addition of Gasol at PF.

I for one do not expect the outcome to resemble that past two seasons if these two clash once again in this postseason. The weaklings have been exercised.

frankly, i'm amazed with cheese's restraint thus far. when we were watching the game the other night i noticed he was reading and posting on a spurs forum. he said he can control his daily access on that website, but that he knows the temptation of asfn. he basically finds out what's going on the board through me, and y'all know we echo one and other quite a bit (maybe i do so more eloquently and he's more combustible, but the theories are usually consistent). i suspect he'll be back for the playoffs. i know he'll be back come nfl draft, and i'll be shocked if he doesn't stray over here at that time.

I for one have been trying to focus my posts more on general basketball on this forum and not just on the Lakers. I enjoy the basketball talk, but understand this is a forum for the Phoenix Suns first and foremost. I personally feel that fans of other teams shouldn't be allowed to post here unless they can at least show respect for the host team. I'm not a Suns fan, but I respect them and their talent. Ultimately, I think this rivalry is bringing out the best in both teams, and for that I'm grateful. It's been really fun to watch so far.

Until the Lakers actually take the Suns out of the Playoffs though, I totally agree that the Suns are in the lead in this rivalry. I enjoy "talking shop" with Suns fans, I'm not however, here to just spew off a bunch of comments on how the "lakers rule."
