Arizona Diamondbacks FOX 10 has learned that Arizona Diamondbacks 3rd baseman Alberto Callaspo has been arrested by Phoenix Police for a domestic violence incident that happened at his home.

Callaspo is a rookie with the team, and is currently being questioned by Police, but could be booked into jail by this weekend.

Neither the team or Callaspo's family is commenting on the arrest and Police have not identified a victim.

FOX 10 News and Myfoxphoenix.com will have more on this developing story as it becomes available.

He's the only player statistically worse than Conor Jackson, so let's go Clint Sodowsky on him

he is terrible defensively at third... we need to trade Callaspo and Tracy along with a prospect pitcher like Enrique Gonzalez for a GOOD third baseman

The MLB PA has filed a grievance on behalf of Callaspo. Sounds warranted, since he has been suspended without pay.

Callaspo's on the restricted list, which is MLB limbo. He can stay on there for 2 years and the D'backs don't have to pay him a dime. Of course you need a good reason to have him on there (which the D'backs no longer have).

I believe you have to clear waivers to be brought back off the list, but I could be wrong

It said in todays paper that the Maricopa County Attorneys Office didn't file charges which means the worst that can happen is he'd get charged with a misdeanor (thats if the City of Phx Prosecutors office even decides to press charges).

I find it hard to believe that a player would have to clear waivers when coming off the restricted list but you may be right.

Good news. What he did sucks but the charges didn't get filed. Let's hope he learned from his mistake because he won't be getting anymore chances after this one.

I'm assuming Reynolds will be getting sent down. It's too bad, his bat has been very impressive. Lets hope he can learn how to throw to first base cause we can sure use his bat in the near future
