From the Sidewinder's website tonight:

The Diamondbacks announced that 5 Sidewinders will be called up to the majors when rosters expand on Monday. The group Heading to the big league club consists of LHP Chris Capuano, RHP John Patterson, RHP Edgar Gonzalez, RHP Dennys Reyes, and 1B Lyle Overbay.

Set Tracy aside for the moment - Devore is on the 40 man roster already, he is hitting .290-.295 for the last month or so, low errors, Q is NOT a good backup outfield option - WHY do we not need DeVore's bat!??

Tracy is hitting .321 and has been around that level for several months. His OBP is .371, SLG is .451. Not on the 40-man, but... why use the two slots to put Edgar Gonzalez and Denys Reyes (NOT Bruney?) on the 40-man when WE HAVE PITCHING, IT'S FRIGGING OFFENSE WE LACK, YOU DUMB ORGANIZATIONAL PHUQUES!

Lyle will be underappreciated and underused, probably. He's hitting .287, OBP of .420 and SLG of .478. We do need this, we can use his defense, and IMO he should replace Shea at first.

This year is over. The Diamondbacks are a pathetic baseball team. 5-7 on this current homestand, and only 4 games over .500

Not calling up Tracy and Bruney are typical Diamondback braindead moves. Why Gonzalez over Bruney? Is Tracy the 3rd baseman of the future or not? I have scratched my head at moves this team has made all year long. Time to rebuild this team and send Brenly out the door as well. Brenly needs to go. The Diamondbacks have won in the past inspite of Brenly, not because of him. He is a lousy manager who does nothing but offer excuses and can not motivate this team.

Even with the promising kids we have in the farm system, I'm afraid this team is going to suffer through alot of growing pains. With the players this team broke camp with, I thought they were a team that would play slightly above the .500 mark. Unfortunately I was right. I like our pitching going forward but, our defense, baserunning and hitting leave alot to be desired.

We are stuck with 3 monster contracts, Randy, Curt, and Gonzo, that will prevent this team from signing any free agents they so desperately need. Not to mention all the deferred contracts they have. Jerry wants to keep lowering payroll. I would not be surprised if Curt was shipped somewhere in the offseason to bring in some hitting and lower payroll. Curt is owed 12 mil next year

This team has no speed, they cannot catch the ball, and they can't hit it. They have no power and their OBP stink. Centerfield, rightfield, 3rd base, 1st base and catcher are all area's this team needs to upgrade IMO. No way are they going to sign any free agents. The only way they can upgrade in the offseason is by trades, and I have little confidence in Joe Jr's ability to upgrade through trades. Until people like Hairston and Tracy and Santos and Jackson are ready to take over full time, I see alot of mediocrity in the near future. Pitching will keep them respectable but, every other area is mediocre at best.

A few contradictions here.

Joe Jr. I am sure is the one making the calls on who goes on the 40 man roster. BB has little to do with that. Why are you blaming Brenly for braindead call-ups?

You also contradict yourself. If you thought the team was only a .500 team at the beginning of the season and their record is still better than .500 then why is Brenly at fault and has to go?

The kids on the team are all performing very well. So I'm not sure how you can say he lacks the ability to motiviate. The kids are the future of the team, and they have done well under him, so what's the issue?

The problem is that veterans signed by Joe Jr are not performing well, of course that was understandable as he gave contracts on the basis of one good year and expected them to perform per that year rather than their career. That's not BB's fault.

You want to see a team with a manager problem, look at the Phillies.

Well put SchillingFan. I think Bob Brenly does make some questionable calls, but so does every other manager or coach in professional sports. I heard Dan Bickley on Sports Tonight last night I say that Bob Brenly will be on the hot seat next season. I doubt it.

I wouldnt see the point of bringing up bruney and tracy..They wouldn't be used everyday anyways...D-backs bullpen has been overused..So They do need the Bullpen help..If the D-backs organization are smart...They should look for a Big Right hander Bat over the offseason..So they have Gonzalez, The big Bat, Finley, Shea. Season still isn't over but their offense seem to get worst and worst..It's frustrating for a fan.

I have to totally agree with you. We lack speed, plate discipline and patience. I'm not sure it's Brenly but guys should be yanked who don't implement coaching suggestions. Either Murphy isn't making them or nobody's listening. That is where a manager must step in. The callup of maybe two pitchers makes sense but we need hitters. More nonsense in a year of nonsense. Jerry, note the unsold out nature of Bank One for this hyper important series. Change is in the wind. Maybe Pedrique (sp?) will get his chance with the big club.

Prediction: Brenly and Grace rejoin Brennamen in the booth thus forcing the need for the formation of Chain smokers anonymous. Brennamen forgets he quit and starts smoking again after having to endure another year of untimely hitting, lousy fielding and baserunning as well as pitchers who lose excellently pitched games because of 1 mistake.
