Cameron Boozer, ranked No. 2 in the USA TODAY High School Sports 25 in '25, has been named the 2024-25 Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
He took the top high school honor over finalists Brayden Burries and Caleb Wilson.
Boozer was presented with the prestigious HS award by Miami Heat power forward Kevin Love, who won the Gatorade Basketball POY in 2006-07.

The Duke commit joins basketball stars such as Jayson Tatum, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Cooper Flagg in the Gatorade POY club but holds the added distinction of winning the ward twice, the first during his sophomore year (2022-23). That rare accomplishment places him alongside Greg Oden, LeBron James and Brandon Knight.
Like all Gatorade winners, Boozer has excelled off the court as well, which includes playing in a local Miami orchestra as a cellist. The Columbus High School standout has volunteered on behalf of Fellowship Church, too, assisting with youth services and leading weekly bible study. He's also donated time as a mathematics peer tutor, both in algebra and geometry.
The son of two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer and leader of the No. 1 team in the USA TODAY Sports boys basketball Super 25 rankings, the talented power forward has maintained a weighted 4.88 GPA in the classroom.
“Gatorade is committed to investing in the next generation of athletes on their journey to greatness,” said Gatorade Chief Brand Officer Anuj Bhasin in a statement. “We’re proud to celebrate Cam for a second time with a completely unique opportunity, giving him a one-of-one experience and that honors his amazing accomplishments on and off the court.”
