It's not clear if Cam Newton would be on hand for a celebration of the Carolina Panthers' beloved 2015 team. In fact, it's not even clear if the organization will be holding such an event this upcoming season to honor the 10-year anniversary of that squad.

But what is clear is that the group, and their impact, does hold a special spot in Newton's heart.

He touched on that memorable campaign during Thursday's episode of 4th & 1 with Cam Newton, when co-host Omari "Peggy" Collins asked him if that moment in time should be celebrated.

"Do you celebrate it? Absolutely," Newton stated. "Do you take the time to highlight the personnel that was affiliated—from executive team, general manager, head coach, coaches and players—absolutely. And even ownership, absolutely.

"Because the sad truth is, nobody cares about who lost, or second place. You're just the first loser. But the reality of it all is, there's not a lot of teams to have been in that position in the first place. And the impact that came from it, and what came from it was so much.

"The team celebrations, the celebratory actions from 'The Dab' and 'The Superman,' and just the authentic nuance that the Carolina Panthers' 2015 season represented for the masses. It's something that will never be forgotten, and that's what I'm most proud of."

Newton led the Panthers to a franchise-best 15-1 regular-season record that year. Their magical run would extend into their second-ever NFC championship crown, but was stopped short of the sport's pinnacle in a painful loss to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.

That campaign also saw Newton become the first-ever Panther to win the AP Most Valuable Player of the Year and AP Offensive Player of the Year awards.

His reflection from that episode, remarkably enough, was released just a few hours after the publication of The Athletic's dive into the present-day relationship between Newton and the Panthers organization. But despite the apparent "rift," a Panthers spokesperson—per reporter Joe Person—stated that the "doors are open" to Newton.

Hopefully, we'll see him walk through those doors later this year.
