First off let me say that I absolutely love these updates. The media is coming nowhere near close to the coverage you guys are giving us. You rock!

Now, is it just me, or does the phrase baby mamma sound utterly ********? I know it's off topic and I'm not trying to insult anyone for using the phrase, but really...it sounds uneducated, ghetto, and plain stupid. It's so hard to believe that it's found its way so far into mainstream society. I guess, sadly, it isn't hard to believe, but it's still disappointing. I should run around saying 'I gotta cut my daddy grass" or "I need to build doggy house". Can't we, as a society, sound a little more classy?

Okay, rant done, sorry for derailing the thread, and back to the great football analysis :)

How you write all of that from memory the next day is pretty astounding bro. Thats a whole lot of info to remember especially when we are all jaw jacking the entire time GOOD STUFF!
I was thinking the same thing! No notes were taken by dcr...and we didn't get home & to bed until well after midnight.

My recollections consist of....

...Warner threw it to the ground too often

...One dude is really tall

...One dude is really fast

...One dude is really tall & beast-like. Scares me.

...Fazoli's was good

:D Gotta love the woman's perspective.

Oh and you want to edit 1st sentence above. :)

Yeah, I can't even Shane's rule that one. :)

It's a lot to try to remember. If I would have planned better, I would have brought a notebook, some pads for those god-awful benches that we had to sit on, some snacks etc. I didn't have time to do much of anything after work but hit the road.

This is where Breaston missed a lob of a ball that hit him right in the chest

Actually the Cards were having the defense practice against the 49ers offense and Breaston was supposed to be Bryant Johnson.

A few other things...

Pope has horrible, horrible footwork. He is very slow at running routes. I swear I could defend him on most plays, and he has a good 7" on me. I know exactly where he is going before he does. I wonder if LB and safeties can see what I see. I don't know if Patrick will beat him out or not. Pope was running with the first team all night.

Hodel was also out signing autographs, infact he was the first one to do so. He even came back a second time.

I agree it is ghetto and I try not to use it. She isnt his wife or girlfriend, just his son's mother. There HAS to be another term for it. ;)

A Word of Caution and a Suggestion...

I'm not sure whether or not stuff that goes on during early practices (whether its' Lance Long's catches or D-Dock's abuse of Deuce) is an accurate indicator of how well these guys will do during the regular season.

I don't say this to be argumentative - I really don't know.

But we could find out.

What I'm suggesting is that we make Shane's excellent TC reports a "sticky" to be left on this site through the regular season so that we can do a reality check as the season progresses to see of there's much correlation between early TC performances and the actual season itself.

For example: Will the preseason "red flag" concerning Branch's lack of consistent effort turn out to be an accurate predictor of his performance during the regular season? Or will he play his *ss off and make fools of us all)?

Keep in mind that Pope probably isn't back from a pretty horrible foot injury. I'd hate it if he failed as a draft pick, but I don't think he was really able to do any work over the offseason, and I hear that he has a hitch in his giddyup, as well.

It can't be easy getting in and out of routes when you're that big, either.

It's true that Pope isn't back fully from injury. It seems weird to me that he is running with the first team, when he has lost a step.

The mother, an ex-Raider cheerleader, is infinitely better looking than was discussed here on the board.
Yeah, but not good enough for 75% of the guys on this board.

For Shane & Crew:

Wilson was on Bick and MJ this morning and they were referencing a huge hit he put on JJ early in camp. Apparently he completely blew JJ up and the coaches had to pull AW aside and tell him to gear it down!

He also said he gave Hightower a "Welcome to the NFL" gift yesterday! Said he flattened him!

Did you guys see any of this??

I'm pretty sure the guys caught him flattening Hightower yesterday. I remember hearing them saying something about someone flattening someone :)

Of course, I missed it. It's the kind of luck I have.

:D The company was EXCELLENT. I just mean, I always miss things visually. I lived here for a good 15 years before I ever saw a roadrunner, because people would say, "Look! A roadrunner!" and I'd be 2 seconds late & it would be gone. Same with shooting stars, stuff like that.
I am sure I missed the flattening by a nanosecond.

Ever see a rattlesnake up close and personal? Came home yesterday from work with my kids all jumping up and down in hysterics because the landscapers had killed a HUGE rattlesnake in our backyard... Damm thing is SOOOOO freaky!! I HATE rattlesnakes and for whatever reason, we seem to attract them in bunches... We have a Bull Snake that lives in our backyard as well and I've been told that's a good thing as they keep rattlersnakes away... WRONG!!!
