And 25 years ago, Young completed just 13 of 39 pass attempts for 155 yards in a 38-28 win over the Cowboys that moved the 49ers into Super Bowl XXIX, where Young threw a record six touchdown passes to lead the 49ers to a blowout win over the San Diego Chargers in Miami. If there were any questions about Garoppolo's ability to put the team on his back, those answers seemingly came late in the season when the 49ers pulled out critical victories at New Orleans and Seattle. If the 49ers would have lost either of those games, they would not have earned home-field advantage in the playoffs and their road to Miami would have gotten a lot more difficult.
