If we beat GB and....
If Minn loses the next 2 and Dallas beats Philly,
Do the cards win the tie breaker... 3 way tie?
Anyone figured this one out?

We would need to have MN lose out and Dallas beat Philly. And we would need the tiebreaker against Dallas. I have no idea if we do or not.

Yes, but it is all not gonna happen... Minny is not going to lose to Bears.

Well I didnt think they would lose last week either
and..... I sure didnt think NO would lose to TB but....
It is quite possible with their last performance.

Looks like we do have the tiebreaker against Dallas if we win next week, both because we will have won more NFC games and because we beat more of the common opponents.

Really, if Minnesota loses tomorrow night, the Cards should bring their A game next week against the Packers. We'd have a pretty good chance of securing the #2 seed, as we already have the tiebreaker against the Vikings due to the epic graybeard battle a few weeks ago.

If Minnesota wins tomorrow, will we have a shot at #3 still? If Dallas beat Philly, we'd all be 11-5 with 9-3 NFC records. That's assuming we beat Green Bay of course.

the beauty of this scenerio, though its not likely, is that the other games will be over before ours starts, so we can play accordingly.

If Minnesota wins tomorrow, they are locked in the #2 seed.. If Dalas beats Philly, AND we win, we will be the #3 seed facing the #6 seed GB

If either Philly wins OR we lose, we would be the #4 seed...

If We lose AND Dallas wins, we would be the #4 seed hosting Philly the #5 seed...

So basically IMO, whether Minn wins or loses, we still should bring our A game next week, to avoid the Philly/N.O./Minnesota gaunlet to the Super Bowl...

That is a TOUGH road

The Dallas/Philly will be going on at the same time ours is... but IF by some miracle Minnesota loses out, there will be A LOT of scoreboard watching this sunday at UofP stadium and that Eagle/Cowboy game....

I agree, yes, we really want PHI to lose next week. Stay away from the cold.

If We lose AND Dallas wins, we would be the #4 seed hosting Philly the #5 seed...

Not quite right. If the Cards lose, yes the Cards drop to the 4th seed, but the win for Greenbay would move them to the 5th Seed and we would play GB.

So, most likely, MIN wins Monday night and the Cards end up playing Greenbay in round one.

I can see Minn losing to the Bears in Chicago, but if that happens, I don't think the Giants would beat the vikings in Minn., but you never know.

Yup we have a shot at it but then the follow up question is whether or not its worth it to go or the 3 seed. We still have to play wild card weekend and our opponent next week might be the same opponent we play the following weekend.

There really isn't that much to gain for going for it.

Agree! It is not that hard for me as I despise both Philly and Dallas.

Listening to a little Chicago sports radio this week, it almost sounds like the Bears 'fans' want them to get blown out tonight so they can get rid of the entire coaching staff. :(

Go Cardinals! Go Cowboys! Go Bears! Go Giants!

Bottom Line

One thing we can control is how hard and smart we play vs. Green Bay next Sunday.

The Cards will be playing Green Bay, unless one of the following happens:

1. We play Dallas if Dallas/Philly TIE, AND we beat Green Bay, AND Minnesota wins one of its last two.

2. We get the #2 seed if we win, Dallas wins, and Minnesota loses BOTH.

Assuming Minnesota wins tonight, if Philly wins, we are 4, Green Bay is 5 no matter how next week's game in Arizona goes. If Dallas wins, then if we win, we are 3 and Green Bay is 6, but if Green Bay wins, we are 4 and Green Bay is 5. We're playing Green Bay two weeks in a row. I'm ready for next week's preseason game.

I'm thinking the same thing, get ready for Matt to start and a very plain game plan.

Minny VS the Bears is a very ancient rivalry, much like the NFC east with Philly / Dallas / Washinton /NY.

Every indication is that Minny will win but because it's a division rivalry the odds of the Bears winning go up dramatically from just any other game.

I'd say normally they'd have like a 10% shot of winning that game just based on how much better one team is than the other, however IMO it's no better than 70 /30 because of the fact it's in Chicago.

30% chance is pretty good.

We'll know more after tonight.

It does give you a slightly better chance at hosting the NFC championship game. I think that is worth trying to win Sunday.

Besides, I have an issue of us being too afraid of the Packers. Our coaches can put in one game plan this week and then tweak it the next. There are very few secrets left after a 16 game season. You are what you are, at this point.

I don't think we are going to see much from GB either. They have nothing to play for so I imagine they will be very vanilla also. Could be a game of backups.

If we would happen to get to the number two seed, I hope all the headlines read, "Cards luck into the number two seed". "They play in the scum call the NFC West and no way deserve this high of ranking, and are the worst football team in history to secure a second seed".

Hang it all on the bulletin board and let our Cards do the rest!! Go Cards!!!

A Dallas win over Philly is not a unlikely senario. IN fact I would favor Dallas over Philly now. They just lost their starting center for the year. They looked pretty bad in letting Denver back into the game after they had built a commanding 27-10 lead. Their offense sputtered most of the second half. This all happened in Philly.

With N.O. and Minn. not playing at the level they were playing before this playoff is wide open for anyone to take. I would say its pretty even money for any of the 6 teams to advance to the Super Bowl. Mistakes will probably decide each winner and advancement.

Ok, let's try it one more time... Minny is not going to lose to Giants!

It worked the first time, let's see if it works again... :D
