The Vancouver Canucks have called up center Max Sasson ahead of their matchup with the Anaheim Ducks. The call-up was under emergency conditions, meaning it will not count toward the four call-ups each team gets after the trade deadline. This is the eighth time Sasson has been called up this season, with the last time occurring in late March.

Updates On Vancouver Canucks Forwards Elias Pettersson And Nils Höglander
Sasson's call-up is due to growing number of injuries that have hit the Canucks roster. When Vancouver hits the ice on Saturday versus the Ducks, they will be missing center Elias Pettersson, Filip Chytil, Tyler Myers, Nils Höglander and Nils Åman. As of Saturday morning, four of the five will likely not play on Sunday against the Vegas Golden Knights, with Höglander being the lone possibility.
So far this season, Sasson has played 24 games for the Canucks, recording two goals and six points. He also has 14 hits and is averaging 10:06 of ice time. While line combinations have not been revealed, Sasson will most likely center Vancouver's fourth line on Saturday afternoon.
As for his time in the AHL, Sasson has had a strong campaign. In 39 games, he has 27 points and recently played in his 100th AHL game. Sasson's strong play has not only helped the Abbotsford Canucks clinch a playoff spot, but pull off a franchise record 11-game win streak.
