Assuming Hopkins salary as it stands now.

Signing Jordan Phillips.

Unloading DJ’s Salary.

Drake tag..

What is left in the cupboard? And does anyone feel we will restructure or extend Hopkins this off season?

We had under $21 million as of this morning, how much is remaining depends on the structure of Phillips deal. If it was a straight $10 million a year that leaves around $10-11 million. Then we'd have to account for the rookie pool ($5-7 million?)...so maybe $4-6 million left?

Not a ton left to play with.

Go to Spotrac.

We didn't unload DJ's salary; we replaced it with Hopkins higher wage and took a $6m dead money hit.

About $10M... They are a bit off on the rookie pool given that we gave up a #2nd and gained a #4th rounder.

That said - it's down to the structure of new deals; how we handle the tags, etc.

It's creative accounting and they'll find the space needed.

we were at 20.66m before the Phillips singing. I don’t know what he was signed for.

We started at 35
Add drake 8 mil
Hopkins 12. 5

Then remove DJ salary

Was around 25/26

I think Jordan Philipps salary won't be 10mil straight

You're way off.

Go to Spotrac.

They haven't adjusted the Rookie Pool money given that we've given up a 2nd for a 4th, but they are pretty close before today's signing.

So what does the Cardinals’ cap picture now look like?

According to Over the Cap, they begin the week with $34.2 million in cap space.

They gain roughly $8.2 million in cap space by trading Johnson. They use $8.5 million in cap space for the transition tag on Drake. They use $12.5 million for Hopkins.

When everything becomes official, the Cardinals are left with about $21.4 million in cap space, which isn’t a lot.

That was before the Phillips signing.

So, does that mean that Phillips will be our one splash signing? If so, I'm starting to think that we might go Simmons at #8 and try to get by with Murray at OT and hope for an OT to be available in the third or fourth round. Or will "creative bookkeeping" kick in?

Adding Zane Gonzalez, Justin Murray and Philips basically we should have about 12/13mil?

Yeah it doesn't account for Gonzalez and Murray and it also depends on how Phillips was structured. My guess it would be closer to $10 million

I think we keep Murray and like it or not resign Gilbert to a 1 year deal.
I see us trading down perhaps with the rRaiders and taking a guy like lb Murray and living with Reddick and Marsh on the outside.
Third round Id love to see us take a og.
Two fourth rounds I can see a rb and a d-lineman.
