So they will not draft a RB. Then the chances of Ronnie Brown being a Cardinal increase. If Ronnie Brown were to end up with a redbird on his helmut next season, I'd be estatic because he reminds me of Bo Jackson. He is my clear cut choice for the first round pick. As for James, too much money for an aging player with a lot of mileage.

Great FA signings. If this team cannot win at least 8 games next season just with what they have on their roster right now, they truly are cursed.

he's hardley aging....@26 yrs old

he's knees are older than 26. couple years of them blowing up makes his football age hover at 29 - 30.

I'd love to see the guy go to Miami anyway. He was talking about going there at the beginning of the 2k4 season. Besides, i'd really like to see PacMan in the desert.

We have such a good record of selecting outstanding RB in the draft...

Leeland McElroy
Thomas Jones
Johnny Johnson
Garrison Hearst

Wow, why would we ever want a proven back that has over 1000 four times and 1500 twice in his young career. He's also proven that he has gotten over his injury problem.

Yes....let's pass on a proven commodity to draft a guy that was the #2 RB on his own team.

Is a helmut a german helmet?

I am inclined to agree. I know that Camp "Let Edge Run Free" is a small one, but I think we'd be better served to draft a RB this year. I've never been a big James fan (I've read a lot of interviews about the guy, he is more about money that winning) so I think we'd be a lot happier with guys who are looking to get paid AND win games (ie Berry, Okafor (sp?), etc). I don't mind his knees though, it may be a liablity, but 2 years after the injury he seems to be getting very much back into form. Last year was a good year for him.

Because he wants too much money, will cause cap problems, and this team still has many holes to fill. There are many good backs this draft. Even if Green does not get one in round one, he can still get a guy like JJ Arrington in round 2. Drafting a RB makes more sense than opening the vault for James.

He had a career year in 1998 (only time he rushed for even close to 1500 or avg 5yd carry).

He was a total bust for us all three years. The last year he barely gained 1000yds and only scored 1td...first time in NFL history. He was very tentative and couldn't break any tackles...

We basically became the farm system for the NFL for draft picks...Hearst, Rice, Plummer, Boston, etc..

The only ones we kept were the busts...Wadsworth, Tom Knight, and Bryant.

I wouldn't call Boston and Hearst NFL successes. And they're are hundreds on this site that will never call Plummer a success.

Hearst made a Pro Bowl after leaving...Plummer is still a starter in the NFL at a position of need for us (Not that I want him back), and Boston self-destructed.

Let's not forget our other great backs, Anthony Thompson, Ivory Lee Brown, Chuck Levy.

The point I'm getting at is that James has had a better career than all of these back combined. Johnson blew out of this league almost as fast as David Boston will.

Almost 2000 carries in 6 years, most of them on turf. Good back, but Indy rode him hard.

Yes and no.

I am in the same boat with you...Anti draft RB...Pro James.

That post of mine was directed toward Doctor and in regard to Garrison Hearst.

Yep, one great year and he's a stud.....by the way did you watch him fall to pieces BEFORE we shipped him out? 600 something yards after nearly snagging a 1000 yeard season and whinning like a baby just doesn't translate to stud to me.

Oh, BTW, He had over 50 catches every year except for the injury year.

He would easily be the best RB we've had on our roster since, well, Emmitt...

But seriously, since OJ Anderson. Even though Emmitt was better in his heyday.

Once again, Ronnie Brown is the bomb.

#1, he's big.
#2, he's fast.
#3, he's fresh.
#4, he can block.
#5, he can catch.
#6, he reminds me of Bo Jackson.
#7, Denny wants him to be a Cardinal too.

#8 second best RB on his team.
#9 Unproven and will want millions vs James who is proven and wants millions.
#10 We don't really know who Green wants.

Doesn't mean he will be there at the 8th spot.

Here's the best idea....let's sit back and let Denny and Grave work their magic. If we get Edge, great, if we draft a back, just fine....point is one way or another we WILL fill this gap, this isn't the Same old Cards.

HELLO...ya ever think in 91' with Tom Tupa at QB, maybe they put 8 in the box. Not much of a threat getting beat by Tupa
