Cardinal Fans rally around RB Emmitt Smith!

I really don't think we got to see the "real" Emmitt Smith last year. Injuries did him in too early in the 2003 season. I still think he has a 4.0 - 4.5 yds. per carry in him and 15-20 carries a game. My opTIMism comes from what I saw from him in a few games last season (preseason vs. Bears, at Lions, vs.Packers, and vs. Vikings in regular season). Let's rally around the NFL's All-Time Leading Rusher and the starting running back for our beloved Arizona Cardinals!!!!

We could have a combo of Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, and Barry Sanders, they would struggle behind our line. I think Smith can get 3-5 yards per carry, but as this camp goes on, my biggest concerm by far is the O-line. The more I watch and hear of the defense, the more I am ok with it. The offensive line is a different story all together.

but, as I said before, he will not create much on his own from the backfield or fter getting hit. This line, which is rag tag, needs to make holes for him.

I think Smith could put up amazing numbers -- IF the O line helps him out. My concern is that the O-line will be improving all season, while Smith may slow down a bit toward the last few games.

We need a rb that is great at picking up the blitz and protecting rhe QB. And we happen to have maybe the best ever at doing that.
