Even though I am not a big fan of Bob Kemp (KDUS 1060), he just brought up an interesting situation. Apparently, the Buffalo Bills have discussed the possibility of trading their first round pick (#12) for Edgerrin James. This would only be a possibility if Adrian Peterson is available for the Cardinals at #5. In my opinion, this would be an awesome scenario for the Cards. We would have the opportunity of getting Peterson and one of the following three ........ L.Brown, P. Willis, A. Carriker.

No! In terms of future and value, sure that's a fair deal, but James was a horse last year and he broke 1,000 yards behind a line that 99% of the other RBs would have struggled to get 700. James deserves a shot with strong coaching and to run behind a line with some semblance of a blocking scheme.

On the other hand, if James has requested to be traded, sure that's a good trade....

If we can grab Peterson at #5 then the answer is yes.

I'm not sure about that CC! Levy chose Donte Whitner at #8 last year when there was some awesome players still on the board (Leinart, Cutler, Ngata, Maroney, D. Williams, Addai, etc.).

Since I haven't invested any scrilla in a James jersey as of yet, I'd be OK with that. :)

Donte Whitner has proven to be a solid pick at the #8.

I have one, but I could just let my son have it.

To complete the story, apparently Peterson was talking to the Buffalo media, and told them that Arizona said that they would draft him, and once they did they would send Jame to Buffalo for the #13.

No way that happens, though.

I know I am in a very small minority but HECK NO!!!!

Edgerrin James had a AVERAGE, not a bad, but AVERAGE season of 1,100 yards (mind you many thought that is how many he would gain at the beginning of the '06 season).

He is still a premier back in this league. How about we get him behind a offensive line that can run block?

James is still a high calibur back, IMO, and after floundering at the position for years I think it would be a serious serious mistake by the Cardinals to let Edge go.

And for what? Adrian Peterson who has not taken a snap in the NFL ? Sorry, I am not sold on the kid, and furthermore I think Joe Thomas AND Levi Brown will be gone by the time Buffalo is getting ready to pick.

We can end up with nothing more than a rookie RB, and NO high end OT.

No thank you. We are trying to go forward as a team, and not backwards.

Stay at 5 and pick Thomas or Brown.

If AP is sitting there when we're on the clock, then YES!!! Do not think twice! I don't care if Thomas is there or not.

Agreed. If we really do have this trade in mind, it really doesn't matter if Thomas is there or not. If he was there, you could package the #12, along with the 3rd and 4th round picks to grab to Washington's #6 and have both Peterson and Thomas.

If he is not there, you may be able to find a trade partner in the 7-9 to try and grab Brown.

That is what I would do.
