To complete the story, apparently Peterson was talking to the Buffalo media, and told them that Arizona said that they would draft him, and once they did they would send Jame to Buffalo for the #13.

No way that happens, though.

If that's true that the Cards told him that then a) the cards are stupid and b) AP is stupid

If it's true that AP said that then he's just stupid and I don't want him.

If it's not true the media is stupid.

I'm going with the latter, as it works so often regardless.

Two things to consider:

1) What is the cap hit if we trade James?

2) Would the Bidwills be willing to shell out two 1st round signing bonuses? I'm guessing not, but if trading Edge's salary offsets the potential signing bonus of the #12 pick then it might be plausible.

If this happened id be sick, If i could do anything i would trade James to Buf for their 1st and 6th, then at #5 draft Thomas and at #12 draft Reggie Nelson. Then sign Micheal Turner and that would be ideal. I dont know if that can happen but i would do that in a heartbeat.

If Thomas is there you pass on him for noone.

Sorry, I know everyone seems ready to pack James's bags for him, but the guy DID rush for 1,100 yards behind an offensive line that was growing as a unit. Add a LT, and see what happens from there.

You guys do realize that by passing on Thomas, even if they DO move down to 12, they've essentially taken themselves out of the running for Thomas AND Levi Brown. At that point Staley's too much of a reach.

Sure, AP's gonna be a good HB.. But not good enough to where I want to see the Cards go in to the season with Oliver Ross as one of the starting tackles. Peterson's a good HB.. Not a miracle worker.

Sorry, I'll pass. Go ahead and add me to the list of those firmly in the "No" category.

Excellent. Then "make" KC trade us Tony Gonzales for JJ and a 7th.

What are you debating? The trading Edge for the #12, or trading the #12, 69 and, 105 for the #6 pick?

Now we are just getting ridiculous.

We should trade Edge for Reggie Bush, straight up. :D

Geez, if james HAD requested a trade, I'm sure it wouldn't be to Buffalo.

The trade sounds plausible in the sense of it working value wise on paper, but no way do you trade James. I'm of the mindset that after how many non-1000 yard rushing seasons by our rb's, that behind that ol we had last year I thought James had an EXCELLENT season. To get the yardage he had, he DID squeeze blood from a turnip.

Also it would be a great way to show the next marquee free agent that we want to sign what we did to James.

We signed james to a 4 year deal....a perfect length contract and front loaded. No way he leaves the team before having a couple of seasons behind a line grimm creates and teaches.

Even if this happened, it would take some of the wind out of the sails of drafting peterson....to have him pair WITH james.

Interesting thought, but won't happen imho.

If you can trade Edge James for the 12th overall pick in the draft, considering what other RBs have gotten in trade value, you do it immediately and not look back. Even if you take Joe Thomas at 5, trade Edge and take Lynch at 12.

Even though I am not a big fan of Bob Kemp (KDUS 1060), he just brought up an interesting situation. Apparently, the Buffalo Bills have discussed the possibility of trading their first round pick (#12) for Edgerrin James. This would only be a possibility if Adrian Peterson is available for the Cardinals at #5. In my opinion, this would be an awesome scenario for the Cards. We would have the opportunity of getting Peterson and one of the following three ........ L.Brown, P. Willis, A. Carriker.
Pardon me, but what about offensive tackle? It is highly unlikely Levi Brown will see the other side of Houston at #10.

Also - Regarding Kemp's rumor, don't you detect the faint aroma of PFT?
