I'm not sure about that CC! Levy chose Donte Whitner at #8 last year when there was some awesome players still on the board (Leinart, Cutler, Ngata, Maroney, D. Williams, Addai, etc.).
Everyone thought it was a major reach. Whitner was projected mid-late 1st round. He ended up tearing it up last year. I don't think they regret taking him and looking at that list today I still would have done the same. Whitner is an underrated player IMO. He's going to be the best safety no one has ever heard of.

Edge is not going to get you the 12th pick in the draft. If the Bills would ever offer it, Graves should accept before Levy can say 12. If we got Buffalo's 2nd rounder for Edge it would still be a good deal. Of course Levy and Ralph Wilson are a combined 250 years old so maybe they still consider Edge as a young RB.

Well it does hurt in the fact that instead of having for example only, 50 players at a cost of 100 Mill, you now only have 49 players at a cost of 100 Mill. plus you ahve to pay more money to a #12 pick.

If this trade were to happen I could easily see a trade down from #12 to lessen the blow of another #1 pick.

True, but it is money already spent. It does nothing to hurt our actual cap, but it saves the team 5.25 in cash payments they would have had to make to Edge during the 2007 season. It just depends on weather you want to look at it from a cash flow position or salary cap position.

Pardon me, but what about offensive tackle? It is highly unlikely Levi Brown will see the other side of Houston at #10.

Also - Regarding Kemp's rumor, don't you detect the faint aroma of PFT?

With rumors of Denver trading with Houston, this might not be bad. If the Denver trade goes through, I would jump at this trade. Brown and AP for Edge.

True, it is his ankle, I am thinking of, sorry. The only real knock on him is he cant seem to stay healthy. I think he is a fantastic prospect, but I dont want Shipp starting 8-10 games a year.

Frank Gore and Wiilis Mcgahee also had injury concerns coming into the draft
and think they are pretty damn solid RB's. I guarantee that people will regret
not drafting Peterson.

We're better off with Brown and Edge, IMO....

Remember Brown, Williams and Benson a few years back? Game changers all of them according to the pundits, but I'd still rather have Edge than any of them.....

I'm REALLY hoping Cleveland takes Peterson at 3, that way the backlash here won't be as severe.

Dude, he had two freak injuries that doctors say will never be a recurring issue...and he is a stud. Is it possible he ends up getting injured again? Possible, but not more likely than anybody else we draft. Your rhetoric on Shipp starting 8-10 games a year is waaaay off target.

So I might have missed this, but two years ago during the last draft the Colts and the Seahawks couldn't move James and Alexander for 2nd rounders.

Now James, two years older and with more wear on the tires is worth more now than then?

In that light I'd be hard pressed to say no because his value's never been as high, but it doesn't feel right to me.

I agree and don't think anyone would give up a #1 pick for Edge now.

But, I believe that as part of the new CBA, they wanted to make it easier to trade players and instead of "All unaccounted portions of the signing bonus" accellerating into the cap, a team can trade a trade like a June 1st cut. Where only the current years signing bonus hits this year and the remaining kicks in the next year. Joe, do you remember any rule in the new CBA about this?

Would make this trade in a heartbeat. Buffalo would never do it so it doesn't really matter.

From what I have heard Buffalo is talking to the Cowboys and Julius Jones.

I agree. He came back the same year after the collarbone injury and palyed in the bowl game. He played through the ankle injury. If people think injuries don't happen they're crazy. AP has already proved that he will play through injuries.

Big and strong enough to run over people and fast enough to run away from them. Think of a guy with JJ's speed but runs as tough or tougher than Edge. Gotta take a guy like that.

A, Bob Kemp is the biggest idiot on radio... Im appalled he still has a job...

B. Two years ago, the going rate for Shawn Alexander was a 2nd round pick... Edge is comparable to Alexander two years ago, there is NO WAY IN HELL Buffalo is offering the #12 pick for Edge, no way...

C. If by some form of imginaition we have comprimising photos of someone high in the Buffalo brass and they did offer this ridiculous trade the Cardinals would be ******** NOT to take the deal...

In the end all of this is a not worth thinking about because Bob Kemp is an idiot and makes crap up, like this "Rumor"

Are you saying this because he says that the Cards are going to be bad? The past decade or so, that actually turns out to be an accurate prediction. I'm not sure where this comes from.

He said J.J. Arrington was going to be bad when everyone here (including me) thought that he'd be an 1100 yard guy. He continually insists that the offensive line is under-talented, and that's true, as well. He's said that the Cards needed help at cornerback forever.

When people were calling in last summer saying that the Cards were looking at at least a 9-7 record, he laughed them off the air. Turned out it was the callers who were idiots.

I'm not a big fan of him as a person, and I think that Kemp keeps a lot of callers on that just agree with him, but there's no question that the guy does a good job of balancing national and local stories, gets good national interviews, and has a clear perspective.
