I'm confused (as usual :) ) on the Cards caps space. Palmer should be added and we should only have enough left for the rookie draft pool. However the D. Washington $10 Million bonus has moved from 2013 to 2014 so????

It was stated that it only helps $2 million this year because of how it is spread out I believe.

I would legitimately hate to have this guys job.

With no pay!

Man if we could squeeze in Andre Smith on 1 year deal somehow, move Massie inside and draft Warmack and get Matt Barkley in 2nd......

Dreaming is free!

:bang:

Why the hell would anyone move Massie??

Makes ZERO sense! Every scout out there last year stated he was RT ONLY prospect! It is one of the reasons he slipped. He was playing lights out at RT the last 8 games gave up 0 sacks! Keep him there kid is going to be a player at RT!

Im with you Shane but if I am reading the draft smoke correctly I think Lane is the pick. So do you move "elite" Levi to Guard? Arians was blowing smoke but also lettingus know he views Levoi as a tackle only. And he has said Massie could play Guard. I agree with you though. I am good with Massie going in as opening day RT.

Well Arians also said don't believe anything you hear being said prior to the draft.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the Cardinals draft Lane Johnson and play him at LG until they are done with Levi Brown. Or, as you indicated, they could try and move Levi inside.

Personally, I would be disappointed to see Massie move inside with how well he played at the end of the year, but if the coaching staff felt like Lane Johnson at LT and Levi Brown at RT gave us the best group of bookends, I could understand that. I still prefer Chance Warmack, but I also seem to value OGs more than most.

Gotta related but OT question:

We're midway thru the offseason. Has Potter added the extra bulk and strength that many felt he needed to add to succeed at LT?

yup. I expect him to at least be close to the 10lbs. I really like Potter. And I think he is often overlooked because of his draft position. But I think he could legitimately be our LT of the future if he works hard. He was a projected 1st rounder after the 2011 draft. So scouts obviously thought he had something. I'm not sure what caused him to drop so far, but I think he did quite well last year, and stands to only improve now that we have so many coaches to help with the OL

That is not correct since he it was reported two days ago we have 56 palyers under contract, then we would have a full 51 to count against it. That means that Palmers $8 million is not there

apparently Palmer is only a $4M cap hit. We could bring in another decent talent. And next year we should be able to save a good chunk of cash by cutting Snyder and Colledge

at the risk of sounding ********, what is "dead money"?

Any garenteed money that counts against the cap if a player is cut.

Palmer is garenteed $10M so if you cut him tomorrow he will still count $10M against the cap.

We were at about 12.5M before we traded for CP. His cap hit this year is 4M and that brings us to 8.5M and then add the 2M that we are getting this year for pushing back DW bonus and that is about 10.5M. So yeah it seems like we might actually have about 11M currently.

ooohhhhhh OK. I'm all good with that then. I'm more than happy to keep and start Palmer for a $4M cap hit. Fan-freaking-tastic
