Arizona Cardinals players, coaches, team mascot Big Red, cheerleaders and front office personnel will take to the road for a “Cardinals Caravan Tour” to cultivate fan relationships, have a presence in community activities and visit local radio affiliates in Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada.

The radio affiliates are part of the Cardinals’ radio network and will broadcast the team’s entire 2005 preseason and regular season schedule.

“This caravan tour presents the Cardinals organization with a great opportunity for our players and staff to visit fans from all around the southwest,” says Ron Minegar, Cardinals Vice-President-Marketing and Sales. “Each stop will allow us the chance to visit with our many radio affiliates and helps to further develop relationships with our surrounding communities.”

On Friday and Saturday February 25-26, defensive tackle Kenny King and running back Josh Scobey will be in Albuquerque to take part in three community events.

“We are excited to visit all of the Cardinals fans in Albuquerque and the surrounding communities in New Mexico,” added Minegar. “The Cardinals are eager talk to the people of New Mexico and to show and display all of the new and exciting things that the team is doing on and off the field.”

On Friday, King, Scobey, and the cheerleaders will join affiliate KDEF 1150 AM to host a meet and greet and sign autographs at Cottonwood Mall’s Center Court (10000 Coors Blvd) from 3:00-4:30 p.m. Later that afternoon the travel party will visit Cardinals fans at Coaches Sports Grill (1414 Central Ave) from 6-7 p.m. to sign more autographs. Both events are open to the public and fans are encouraged to attend.

On Saturday morning, the pair of players will instruct 200 kids from three different area elementary schools (Dennis Chavez Elementary, Double Eagle Elementary, and Hubert Humphrey Elementary) at a kids camp from 10:30 a.m.-noon at La Cueva High School (7801 Wilshire Ave).

Also included in each stop will be information on the new Cardinals Stadium, set to open in 2006, and Cardinals giveaway items for fans.
