Cardinals LB Darling To Speak At Luncheon

Tempe, Arizona — Arizona Cardinals linebacker James
Darling, signed as a free agent from the New York Jets
on March 12, will speak at a luncheon for the Glendale
Human Services Council (GHSC) on Thursday, April 24
from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Arrowhead Country Club.
The annual Volene Stockholm Luncheon is a major
fund-raiser for the GHSC and also serves to recognize
an adult and a youth volunteer in the community.
Lynette Jelinek of Glendale is the 13th recipient of
the Volene Stockholm Humanitarian Award and Gibran
Villalobos of Glendale is the recipient of the Youth
Humanitarian Award.
Darling will address the audience on the need and
importance of volunteering and its value to a
community.
The GHSC identifies human service issues present in the
community. They develop solutions and put them to work
in the community. A homeless prevention program and a
mentoring program for teenagers 10-15 years old are two
examples of programs already in place.
