Nothing to bad, I like that list no big names besides Dockett and he can be replaced by Clancy

No, Clancy can't replace Dockett. Clancy is a NT while Dockett is a UT.

I can't help but be excited about this post. Two dozen players coming into camp and playing this season knowing they have to prove they deserve a NFL sized paycheck...

Even more reason to drink the Kool-Aid:koolaid:

Clancy is a UT he is undersized check it out

Clancy, while undersized for a traditional run stuffer a la Gabe Watson, is a NT in Green's scheme......just as he was used in New York.

He may be only 6'1"/305, but he is strong in the lower body.

not too many key names on that list maybe dockett and l.davis (assuming they can perform this year) but really we seem to have our key guys locked up g.hayes may also prove to be beneficial to resign but hasnt proved anything yet. the great news is we have our core guys locked up and still have a ton of cap room next year.

There is some quality depth on the list. Yes they may be replacable but they already know the system. Some of these guys might not make it out of camp. And some will have to prove they can be the players coaches and collge careers say they can. Under this catagoris
Dockett
Kenny King
Gerald Hays both stand out.

Guys like Reid, Shazor, Bergan, Step, Lechey,
and Edwards are young players about to spread their wings and fly like a cardinal. They all have shown a big upside on this team and IMO I would hate to see them not signed.

There is some cause for concern on that list. Big, Dockett, Hayes (if he becomes the quality starter at MLB many thinks he can including coaches)

Macklin (a capable starter at RCB)

Huff (another starter at WLB)

Darling (another possible starte who gives quality depth)

Thats a lot of people to replace for depth or as starters. If Dockett and Big play very well those are two guys that will eat up our large cap figure rather quickly.

Dockett and Davis are 2 priority signings.

The rest are optional....

Shazor and Steponivich are on a watch list.

Lest we forget.

CP came out and said that Docket's stats were down last year because CP wanted him to stay home and help cover for injuries to the DL.

I left off my comments. A player who is about to come into his own Big Leanord Davis. I would like to see a 5 year committment to him.

The other players I would like to see stay

Darling...Can play almost any LB position.
Macklin..Not spectacular but get sthe job done and the most underarated player we have IMO.
HUff..solid depth player that could start.

Most of that list(off the top of my head 75%) will either be a RFA, EFA, or not even on the final 53 man roster.

With 3 Mill of cap space left after signing rookies you can bet that one or two of few important UFA will get an extension during the season.

We are completely set for next year.

I still think BIG will be a ProBowler at this level.

We'll see if a new coach and a contract year can get him properly motivated. Get nasty next year.

Big is a must, he is an excellent O-Lineman.

I don't know about Darling, how long can he play at his current level??

These are the only 2 players that I think this team NEEDS to re-sign.

The rest can either sign for what we offer, or walk without causing much of a fuss.

Davis isn't going anywhere. If needed, he'll be franchised. With all the cap soace the Cards should be able to get a deal done. I think he's about to become a top 4 LT in the league. Ogden, Roaf, and Pace are aging. You have Walter Jones at the top and then the next tier is Big, Samuels, and Levi Jones as upcoming elite young LT's.

Some are saying that of this list only two or three are worth resigning. IMO, this is so far from the truth. Of this list we need to keep all of the following: Leonard Davis; Darnell Dockett; Kenny King; Antonio Smith; Gerald Hayes; James Darling; Alex Stepanovich; Nick Leckey; Adam Bergen; Eric Edwards; Langston Moore; John Navarre;L. Reid;and E. Shazor.

These are the players that provide the depth that every team needs in order to play around the inevitable injuries.

It will be devastating to have to rebuild the depth if we lose any of these players.

We have our work cut out for us.
