Cardinals recall converted OF Ankiel (AP)

Rick Ankiel returned to the major leagues Thursday -- as an outfielder. Three years after flopping in his attempt to rejoin the St. Louis Cardinals as a pitcher, Ankiel rejoined the team before Thursday night's game against San Diego. Ankiel was hitting .267 with 32 homers and 89 runs batted in 102 games at Triple-A Memphis.

Now that's a name from the past that I really hope works out. That kid had such talent when he came up and watching that complete meltdown with all those wild pitches was really tough.

Really hope it works out for him always seemed to be a great kid.
