I didn't make this up. It was published by the Milwaukee newspaper and reported on ESPN. Google it up.

Gotta wonder how smart you are, sport. You couldn't even spell the name of the test correctly. (It's W-O-N-D-E-R-L-I-C, with no "H," for those keeping score at home.)

Entertaining article, though. Bear in mind that this appeared in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, so it was a local writer throwing the Packers under the bus. Here's an excerpt:

How can this be said delicately without offending anyone's self-esteem? The Packers are stupid. There's no other way to put it.

They have the lowest average Wonderlic score of any of the 32 teams in the National Football League, according to the (Wall Street) Journal. The Wonderlic Personnel Test is a standardized 12-minute 50-question problem-solving exam used by the league to evaluate players. Thousands of other businesses use it to measure applicants.

The players on the Packers' roster have an average Wonderlic score of 19.1, according to the Journal. They were just edged by the Arizona Cardinals, who averaged 19.2 and have started the season just like the Packers, 0-3. The Journal said 19.1 is the typical score for "hospital orderlies."

The Packers have nine players on their roster who scored below 14 on the test. The best score is 50. The St. Louis Rams have the smartest team, with a 24.6 average, followed by Oakland, Tennessee, Tampa Bay and San Diego.

Working up from the bottom, the dumbest teams are Green Bay, Arizona, Kansas City, Washington and Cincinnati.

Interesting that two of the five "dumbest" teams are unbeaten, while the three "smartest" teams are all .500 or worse. Apparently, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to play professional football.

Or, in your case, to post to a message board.

Maybe that's how selected Packers and Cardinals players spell it. ;) You'll find the correct spelling at the company's own website:

Google "Wonderlic" and you'll get about 62,000 other links.

There are a variety of different "intelligences"

logical, linguistic, spatial, musical, kinesthetic, naturalist

the wunderlic measures logical (math) and linquisitic (words) ability

football is a game of kinesthetic (physical coordination) and spatial (seeing something and processing) intelligence

Someone may have a very hard time understanding a written description of a play (linquisitic intellegence) but very readily see a diagram of a play and be able to translate that to action on the field (spatial).

I knew that psychology class would come in handy some day

Well thats great how ESPN, weston university, angelfire. And all those other places spell it but if you take this like WUNDERLICK

You will clearly see NFL.Com, Seattle Seashawks, Oakland Raiders. So I don't know.

I am sorry, but I just saw this and I have to go in about two minutes. I won't have access to the internet and I won't be back by that time to post the source.

If I can find somebody at the shelter that is helping to pack items for the Hurricane relief efforts and has an phone with interent access I'll ask them to do it.

This is going to tear at my insides now for the next 5 hours. Next time I'll include the source. My bad.

No worries. I already took care of it for you. Consider it a public service (like banning you would be, judging from the contents of most of your posts).
