Interesting. I wonder if this is as the starter, or depth, or what?

I'd still like to take a look at Brandon Myers, given his previous rapport with Palmer.

When healthy, Carlson is a solid all-around TE. One would imagine his contract is light in guaranteed money and earned in full if he meets playing time incentives.

I'll bet you're right about the guaranteed $ being very small considering his past concussion problems. If he can stay on the field, it's a very good signing.

Let's not kid ourselves...IMO he's a marginal player, who might be as good as 40 other TEs in today's NFL after the top 5 or 6. Players like Carlson are a dime a dozen.

He signed with Minnesota for 5 yr $25 million in 2012. So at least we paid less than his last contract.

Well, I think he's got much better hands than Housler, but he probably doesn't get open as much...That said, even if he only get's up 50% as much as Housler, he will increase the TE production by 100%, because he will drop far fewer passes.

I think Bruce is planning on running double TEs way more this year. They said they wanted cats that can block.
