I have half a mind to report this post.. :D

That is repulsive though.. Dear God why would anyone think that is sexy?

To each their own.....

I am definitely a Vida guy.... That stuff makes me look the other way.

Because that hole has been addressed in terms of improving the position overall compared to last year it takes SOO much pressure of the draft and allows to address in essence three positions in the premium rounds of the draft which are ILB, NT and CB. Even at CB we are not down to the bare bones but could do with quality upgrade which is nice position to be in actually as it gives you an option of taking a CB as the best BPA rather then having to look for one as you are so desperate.

This is along the lines I'm thinking. IMO, the Cardinals really need another quality CB in addition to DRC. I do not know where the value at CB is in the draft but I'd like the Cardinals to address this area of need when the value is there.

We finally got our passrusher. Good signing. Now if we draft a left tackle we will have addressed both our weaknesses.

Levi Brown will be the LT you can bank on it--Johnson, Bridges and Keith will battle it out for RT(with Keith probably being the favorite). If we draft an OT before the 3rd round I'd be shocked. I wouldn't be surprised if the coaches feel we need a couple ILB's, a NT, secondary depth and a TE before a LT.

Totally agree. Urban has already alluded to Levi moving and keith taking over on more than one occasion.

2nd this.

The number of ILB's may be more then 2.

Can Haggans play ILB? If so that would be a big help.

I'm thrilled we signed Porter because:
Haters can now celebrate.
In Whis I trust so even if we had to money whip him it was the right thing to do.
We are in a much better position to draft BPA (with weighting etc).

it's a good signing but i'm not all that over the top crazy about it. 3 year 18/mill plus incentives is a ton of money for a 33 year old pass rushing LB. People said Dansby got an insane contract, what is this? I would rather have kept KD. But that ship has sailed and this is good signing by the FO. I also don't see all the praise being heaped on Graves. He signed a 33 year old LB that wanted to come to Arizona, had no competitive offer elsewhere, played a position that needs addressed, and gave him virtually what he was asking for. How hard was it to sign the guy? It sounds to me like it would have been harder to not sign him.

I do like it though. Porter gives the Cards a pass rusher that causes the offenses to account for him and that's something that was missing. I'll like watching him play. He'll definitely bring the attitude.

I guess i'm a free agent sour puss because it never seems to go all that well for the Cards. As we get closer to the draft, th more excited i get and then come the season, i'm back to all hyped on the Cards. I need to skip the month of March :D. Mulli was right, i have seasonal affectionate disorder. Go Chisox . At least i have OSU,for about another game, to occupy me in the NCAA Tourney.

I did like the Porter signing though :mulli: :D.

Let's see what the real numbers are before we jump all over the Porter deal. It may be back loaded and we don't know the guaranteed $.

And the draft is only a month away.

But it can't get here fast enough. :D

Why move Levi Brown? With a lefty QB, isn't the right side, his blindside?

They aren't moving Levi due to any blind side change with the QB IMO. He is the best T on the roster for one and that player should be lined up against the other teams RDE. Before you guys laugh remember that the left side is actually Levi's natural side. He has been playing out of position essentially for the last 3 years. He just may be better on the left.

  1. So when all is said and done, Arizona basically traded ILB Karlos Dansby to Miami for OLB Joey Porter.
http://twitter.com/Adam_Schefter

AND..saved serious $$$$.

Actually you could say that for Dansby's money the Cardinals traded Dansby for OLB/DE Joey Porter, LB Paris Lenon, G Rex Hadnot and QB Derek Anderson. Think about it...4 players for Dansby's money and there's porbably some cash to spare here.

No laughing from me. I remember that he played LT in college and I wondered why we moved him to RT. He may just adjust to LT and fit right in.

 Who can blame you. Seems like blizzard conditions today, after it was 65 degrees in Chicago yesterday.

Just try to think how awesome it was the Beanie fell to the Cards last year. That and the Cards dropped 40 on the Bears at the game we went to.

You are probably right, there is a good chance that could happen. But looking at Johnson, Bridges and Keith, I don't see a quality tackle among them. Bridges is a good backup at both guard and tackle. I would rather see him play as a guard but he is a quality backup. Johnson doesn't have the feet to be a very good tackle. You could plug him in at RT if you are going to run the ball 85% of the time and the other 15% give him some help like a TE or a back to chip the defender. Keith has decent size and ok feet but so far I haven't seen him do anything that would tell me he is a quality starting tackle. He may prove me wrong but I am not all that impressed as of yet.

If a quality tackle prospect falls to us like a Bruce Campbell then I hope the Cards get him. If one isn't there then bring on the passrushing linebacker by all means.

Yes you did say you liked the signing, acutally a couple of times. Probably to clarify that overall you liked the signing because of comments you made prior and after and throughout the post. I have heard more encouraging endorsements in my time without the qualifications and still lamenting KD.
Was this post where you said it was a decent recovery from the hole they dug themselves into.

It's all good Cbus, just busting you balls a bit. Now get back to work on having McClain fall to us in the draft.

Because you have so much tape of Keith to go by? We all know the coaches absolutely love the guy. Gotta be a reason for it. They constantly rave at how good his footwork is yet you call his feet just "ok" interesting to say the least.
